I came into town for a conference, and their are not very many options for hotels in the downtown area at a reasonable price. I took a chance on this one based on the pictures and was not happy at all. The tub was the size of a bucket, and the dirty tile that had stuff stuck on the grout...

Under $150 for a room, albeit a small room! This hotel is still under remodel so a complete review is unfair. The hotel is approximately 10 minutes from downtown which makes this a great location. The area is safe. Our room was tiny, walls thin, and the door had a gap at bottom (making the room even less noise proof),...

I stayed 5 nights at the Mayfair during a recent convention. My room had recently been remodeled. It was small but comfortable with a nice TV. The property is being renovated so the lobby was workable but not finished.

I stayed at the Mayfair hotel downtown for a business trip as I had to wake up very early the next morning in order to attend an important business meeting. The location of the hotel is good and the surrounding area is acceptable for downtown Los Angeles. You are about a15 minute walk from 6th and Spring and a 10...

The hotel was undergoing renovations at the time of my visit, so that had to be taken into consideration. The room was very clean, although showing signs of wear in some places. The beds were very comfortable, and, unlike so many hotels, they did not stint on the pillows. We had a bit of difficulty mastering the a/c and it...

The rooms have recently been renovated, which is why I would expect so much more of the Mayfair. As a business traveler, I expect that rooms, especially new, have had some thought put into lighting, plugs, recharging station, etc. There is a desk, but no task lighting. When working from the desk it is very, very dark. Just a hall...
