Ok so I stayed here back in October 2006, back then we didn't have trip advisor so I'll write my review now! Me and two of my close friends stayed in a 6 bed room for 2 weeks, we obviously had to share with some strangers but that was ok. When we first arrived at the hostel we looked at...

OMG! It is horrible in this hostel. The beds are old , rooms are disgraceful. Staff is rude. I have stayed at alot of hostels but this has to be the #1 worst hostel ever. The smells are horrible and you can not sleep. Stay away.

We stayed here for 1 week as no other places avaliable when we was here! It is the dirtiest hostel we had been to in a 6 months of travelling and we had been to india! You pay a ridiculous price for a dirty private room, with 2 single beds with bed bugs and cupboard being held up by books,...

Stayed here and got a horrible skin infection/rash/insect bites all over my face, neck, hands, and back. It's been three weeks and I still have marks. The bed was filthy!!! It has scabies. BEWARE!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! I am a backpacker and always stay in hostels. This place is disgusting and you don't want to end up like me.

Stayed in a private room, so felt my belongings were safe, but spent every waking hour out of the hostel because it was a bit of a dive. TV blared all night too. Wouldn't recommend unless you plan on hitting the beach hard.

This was my first hostel experience and to be honest i could not wait to leave. Travelled with friends, i shared a private room with one of them, the others ended up dragging their mattress into our private room because there room was freezing because the door to the balcony had a gaping hole and one of the mattresses were...

It was dirty and the place to keep valuables is a wooden cupboard behind the tv in the living where everyone else is. so they see you put your stuff in there!

This review is for backpackers - This hostel is not where you want to be. It is dirty and depressing. As the other reviewers mentioned many of the 'guests' are 'residents'. The atmosphere is one of poverty and despair, hardly the stuff that dreams are made of. I wish I has done some more research and not taken the reviews...

When I came there, I did not like it too much, on the first thought. But then I realized it was not a very bad place! Yes, there is a lot of work to be done concerning its cleanliness, amenities, etc. But on the whole, this place is OK for a quick stay. I can say what things I did...

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
