The Rose Hotel feels more like a hostel, not a hotel. The lobby area is very nice and the coffee great, but that's about it. I have stayed at several places around Venice and Santa Monica and this place feels like a total rip-of compaired to other simlar ones in the same price category (350 USD). Also we did not...

The Rose Hotel is without doubt one of the most pleasurable and interesting "hotel" experiences you can have in an increasingly corporate world. A real home away from home, it is tucked away next to the beach in Venice and feels like a secret hideaway, providing the perfect respite from the outside world. Everyone working at the hotel goes out...

Massive Thanks to Doog, Eric, Emily and Florie, for the hospitality, help and efforts in making our wedding on New Year Eve a success. All staff were amazing in helping getting the event just right. I discovered The Rose Hotel through Remodelista and I'm SO GLAD that I did! The Rose is an oasis of calm and comfort with a modern, minimal, beachy aesthetic that is a perfect fit for my design sensibilities. Everything about this place -- from the morning croissant service and in-room massages to the edgy, oversized photography and painted wood floors...

The Rose is my favorite hotel in Los Angeles, and probably the whole world. Its delights are basic but crucial. The historic building is beautifully designed, the rooms are furnished simply but beautifully, and the staff is incredibly helpful but not in your face. The vibe is always calm, cool, and peaceful. In the morning there's French Press coffee waiting...

My partner and I stayed at The Rose last month, I have been meaning to write a review since. This place is AMAZING! I never ever wanted to leave this place. We stayed in The Simpsons suite. Every single detail of the room, from the super hip & unique furniture, to the art of the walls, to the choice of...

I don't have much to add that people haven't already said but, if you're considering staying here DO NOT HESITATE -- JUST BOOK IT! We were upgraded to the Abbott Kinney suite and I could've stayed for months! We always found street parking really easily. Relaxed, lovely hotel in a great area. We loved it!!

Me and my fiancé were blown away with the stylish Pacific Suite. The rooms were so tasteful, with neutral colours and stylish furniture, including great details in the pictures and coffee table books. The bed was extremely comfortable with deliciously soft bedding. With the door open, the large bathroom (with huge tiled shower) shared the same view as the beautiful...

I stayed there in the first week of January 2017 for a business trip. I was not sure what to expect given that I had heard it was a unique hotel. I really enjoyed my stay! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the location is perfect. The hotel is modern and clean. They have some beach equipment like paddle...

My first visit to The Rose Hotel was memorable and enjoyable. The staff immediately made me feel at home through warmth and wisdom; I could not imagine having had a better local home. I only wish I could have taken further advantage of the unique local guidance and activities...I look forward to my next Venice trip!

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
