We stayed for one night and were fortunate that we could open the window to cool the room. The lighting was inadequate. The tub needed work. Restaurant breakfast buffet had very limited offerings of Japanese and America fare. Neither was very good. Great staff but just no way they could make up for the deficiencies.

The room was decent size and clean but the bathroom needed brighter lights and some updating. Overall the hotel itself was decent and the staff friendly. The neighborhood is very convenient and has many restaurants within waking distance.

I enjoyed my stay at the Miyako, with its close proximity to restaurants, shopping, and the LA Convention Center! My room was very comfortable. I had plenty of space to work, complimentary slippers, and a nice warm shower! If you are attending events at LACC, LA LIVE, or you just want to be centrally located in a safe, clean, part...

Rooms size were small but treat it like a premium Japanese hotel. Room clean and tidy, you may also use the microwave and kettle i guess? advise by housekeeping. Just call the front desk! There are a lot of parkings around the hotel. Be mindful when you are driving minivan. There's only 1 parking that actually fit the height limitation....

This is hotel with a great location and value. The rooms are pretty big, staff are friendly and decently priced. The amenities are great and the surrounding area of Little Tokyo also provided and additional advantage. The restaurants around the hotel was great, the Little Tokyo attractions and stores had nice finds. Overall solid hotel. Highly recommended and will definitely...

A very pleasant hotel, conveniently licated within walking distance of MOCA and the Broad museums. The room was well-kept and the cafe quite adequate. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Good Japanese restaurants nearby.

Don't you love Japanese hotels where everything is small, unpretentious but perfectly functional? That's the Miyako in Downtown LA. Locationwise it's great too, as attractions are all within walking distance from the hotel.

Had to be in LA for a court date downtown. Just blocks/walking distance to Civic center. Pretty solid all around. Fairly spacious clean comfortable room. Small bar downstairs. Friendly staff. Parking cheap in the mall garage right out back. Let's face it if in LA you need a car so bonus. Sushi Gen right across the street was amazing. For...

I ended up at Hotel Miyako because all of the Downtown Hotels were booked due to the World Baseball Classic being held at Dodger Stadium. All hotel staff I came across was very professional and courteous. The hotel itself is older and needs an upgrade. But the same could be said about Little Tokyo, the neighborhood where this hotel exists....

My wife and i stayed here when we traveled for the Copa America Tournament. The hotel was small and had very basic amenities. But it is located in a very good area, with very clean rooms. If you are looking for a cost-effective room this is the place for you!!

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
