Well located hotel. Parking is $40 per day. Room service left something to be desired (in the one week I stayed, they cleaned the room only once and why did we insist on doing so). Reception staff very well prepared and helpful. Breakfast is good!

Super clean room (#526). Not one flaw to be found. Even the pullout bed was clean. We did have to request extra blanket because the pullout bed/couch is directly in front of the air conditioner. It took 3 requests until we got the blanket. That is the only issue that we had and was not a big deal.
Breakfast was good for people hitting the town.
Room rate was very pricy for a Hampton Inn. Had to offset with some HH points.
Expensive but holds to Hampton expectations.

I really liked it: bright, spacious and clean rooms. Courtesy kit: more! Bubble bath, shampoo, hair cream and soap dispensers. Very large shower cubicle and a sliding door that closes either the bathroom or a sort of storage cabin. Fridge, microwave, TV, desk. Room make-up upon request by 11am. 24-hour herbal tea and coffee service in a corner near reception. Lemon flavored water always available. A rich breakfast and a beautiful breakfast room, savory and otherwise. There's even a waffle maker! I liked it a lot. Excellent position. Possibility of paid garage. We parked the VAN in a small street in front. Very kind staff. I recommend it without a doubt.

Clean rooms, a friendly staff and decent enough breakfast are the main features of this hotel. If you don’t have a car, the #4 bus on Santa Monica Blvd. is a handy way to get around. The hotel is in a sketch neighborhood, although there are clearly worse in LA, unfortunately.
Being in California, you would expect to find an environmentally friendly approach here, but the reality is exactly the opposite. Breakfast is 100% throwaway, with paper plates, plastic cups and plastic utensils. Absolutely nothing is washed and reused . Trash is not segregated, with food scraps and recyclable material all tossed in to the same bins.
And the paper coffee cups are individually wrapped in little plastic bags !!
But overall this is a good place to stay if you need to be in south central Hollywood.

This hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame, which I have to say was a real disappointment. Our suite contained a large bed, a small lounge area as well as a kitchen with fridge/microwave as well as a dressing area with sink, separate from the bathroom/toilet. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice although you have to use plastic plates/bowls/cutlery etc. There is a small pool and outside relaxation area. The staff were very helpful and professional, If you want to stay in this area then I would recommend you consider this hotel. I wish we had stayed nearer to Santa Monica and did a day trip to the Hollywood Boulevard area as that would be enough to cover the main attractions.

Exactly what you'd expect from a Hampton. Adequate rooms, breakfast and facilities. Bathroom was in really good condition and clean. Room was fine as was breakfast with a rotating menu over 3 days. Word of warning you need to request housekeeping at the front desk otherwise they won't enter your room.

For being part of “Hilton,” we were very disappointed. We came in late from Universal Studios and our kids were tired, and we felt like we had no other option but to sleep in this filthy room. The bathroom had mold in the shower and sink, the shower head was so dirty, and there was hair stuck in the bathroom door. The bathroom door kept coming off the rail so it kept getting stuck. There was trash from the previous guests in the closet, and the toilet seat was so loose it kept slipping every time you sat on it. Not to mention valet parking is the only option and it sucked. They took forever to come out when we came in from our day, then they took our keys and left our car n the front for a long period of time. I am so unhappy with our stay and our night was so uncomfortable because we were nervous of the cleanliness of the room. I would never stay here again.

The best decision I made for my sneak away to LA. I had also reserved a “5 star” in Beverly Hills, but saw sooooooooooooo many negative revies, that I’m glad I canceled and chose this Hampton Inn & Suites.
Checkin – spectacular; late at night and customer service was at an all time high! Room – clean; neat; amazing; spacious – we got the King Studio Suite. We were there for a while and it was just what we needed. Breakfast – box was amazing ... I'm sure when restriction lift, they will go back to the Hampton traditions. Parking – worth it, always felt safe Security – I felt safe and noticed a guard working over the weekend. Staff – everyone was SPECTACULAR Housekeeping – we requested full service once and just kept getting new towels the other days. No issues at all. Because of covid, service is not done everyday, u do have to request it. Business Center was open, I did use it also. We never made it to the pool or the fitness center. We had a packed itinerary. You could tell this was pretty new and if I returned I will be staying here. The location is perfect.
Thanks everyone at the H I&S Hollywood! Can’t wait to see yal again!

1 - It is incredible that, being such an expensive hotel, they charge 44 USD per night for parking.
2 - the hotel area generates a feeling of insecurity
3 - Small rooms, worn pillows and not at all pleasant.
4 - I will not stay at this hotel again

Arrived in LA late at night from the East coast to begin our epic CA/NV adventure. After picking up the rental car at the airport, we headed straight to the hotel. The front desk staff were super welcoming, and informed us about the continental breakfast. We hadn’t eaten in 7 hours, so we grabbed a few item in the lobby snack area. The front desk staff member suggested items be charged to the room (we must have looked tired). The free breakfast the next morning was delicious (hot meal of sausage and potatoes and waffles). The location was perfect for a quick walk to see the Hollywood Star walk. There’s a fabulous farmers market on the weekend just up the street. SO glad we stumbled into this. One of the best farmers markets I’ve seen. If you have 20 minutes of spare time in the am, go check out the incredible selections of fruits, vegetables, flowers, chocolates, drinks and more at the market. We ended up having a second breakfast :-)

Unfortunately not. You can take Metro and a bus, but I wouldn't call it easy or quick. With the demise of FlyAway and SuperShuttle, the only convenient way to get from LAX to this hotel without a car is Uber or Lyft. Sad, but true.
Universal Studio is about 20 min drive based on traffic. Maybe faster if you get on the fwy, but you can take surface streets if that's easier for you. Hampton is very close to the fwy on-ramp.
hope that helps.
There are more places to choose from in the Los Angeles area.
