Restored to its 1920's Spanish Colonial splendor and featuring 268 room and suites, all designed in an Instagram-ready, design driven style, Hotel Figueroa boasts two restaurants and three bars, a breathtaking lobby, beautiful private event spaces, and a relaxing pool area more reminiscent of Palm Springs or Santa Barbara than DTLA. Hotel Figueroa's historic status as a magnet for creative souls and artists continues with bold and meaningful arts and music programming. Located just across the street from LA Live, the Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Convention Center, "the Fig" is in close proximity to the Los Angeles Performing Arts Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Broad museum, the DTLA Arts District, and Broadway corridor.

Hotel Figueroa's unique charm and historic character captivate many guests, despite some finding the rooms a tad small and occasionally noisy. The hotel's cleanliness and stylish atmosphere receive commendation, though opinions on service and noise levels vary.
While the central location near DTLA attractions is a highlight, concerns about prices and safety are noted. Guests appreciate the range of amenities, including a heated pool and vibrant bar, but some feel the hotel's value is diminished by high fees.

I love the atmosphere and attention to detail. The staff is great as are the restaurants. All good. No complaints. The pool are is great as is the detached building where my friends had parties. Hope they are prospering and looking forward to next year when we will visit again.

This hotel is a superb value - probably the best in the Hyatt portfolio in the Los Angeles area. It offers a spacious, quiet, comfortable, well appointed room with loads of character (it's a historic building that has been well preserved/renovated) in a central location for less than $250 a night if you book it sufficiently in advance. Staff are attentive and helpful. The fact that they serve "brunch" until 3pm is a big bonus if you can get it included with your room. The F&B is high quality and reasonably priced. There is also a nice outdoor pool - a bit of an oasis in Downtown Los Angeles.
There are just a few minor caveats about this property. First, you don't have much of a choice when it comes to valet parking, which is around $50 a night. The alternative would be to use one of the other lots nearby the hotel. Fine for a few hours during the day, but questionable for overnight.
Second, the immediate neighborhood is a bit gritty. I didn't see anything especially problematic, but there are homeless folks wandering, and two doors down from hotel is a shop selling cannabis products that appears to attract a questionable clientele.
That said, I walked in the neighborhood extensively, both in the daytime and early evening, and never felt unsafe. There are some good restaurants and rooftop bars (arguably the best in LA) within walking distance (15 minutes or less). This is a major convenience for an LA hotel. After driving to different destinations all day (and likely sitting in heavy traffic), it is nice to be able to access dinner and drinks on foot from the hotel.
Overall, Hotel Figueroa feels like a rising star in a gritty but ultimately ascendant neighborhood. Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I had been planning a short LA staycation and were immediately drawn to this property upon seeing it in our search results. Hotel Figueroa definitely lives up to the photos and we were glad to spend 2 nights here!
Upon check-in, there was a little mix-up and we were told the incorrect room number. I had to go down once to "activate" our key cards, then a second time because we realized the room was already occupied! The concierge at the desk was very apologetic and comped the first night's destination fee for the trouble.
Once we got to our actual room, a junior suite, we were extremely satisfied with the look and feel. It was just as beautiful as the photos. Be warned that the rooms are quite small. We had just enough space to put our bags and luggage, but there's not much floor space to walk around. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a family or large group stay.
We also took a dip in the pool on our 2nd day and enjoyed a complimentary beverage (I think it's $25 value per guest). The pool isn't very big, but there's seating around for people to read, do work, and just lounge.
I would stay here again for another couples' or solo trip! I recommend it if you want to check out LA for a few days.

Originally I was excited to visit Hotel Figueroa as I had not seen the property since its full renovation. The anticipation did not live up to expectation. Downtown LA traffic around the Hotel can be tricky due to the proximity to LA Live complex. No advance notice to where valet parking is made the process of finding valet less seamless. The entry to the Hotel and Front Desk lack any aesthetic character in a property that used to be all about aesthetic character, the arrival process was okay, it checked basic boxes without any bellman to assist with luggage. I was told that there was no dinner service from their restaurant on property which felt very strange for a full service Hotel.
The elevators are fully functional, but ceiling panels which are taped together and deteriorating finishes are the norm. On almost any guest floor you will be greeted by the housekeeping carts, some of which stay there 24 hours a day. An eyesore from the guest perspective but seemingly business as usual here. Housekeeping does not do high dusting, a pet peeve of mine. I needed the bedside table to be a few inches away from the bed so that I could plug into the charging ports on the side of the table, it was pushed right up against the bed daily by the room attendant. The shower floor is tiled in stones so it looks very contemporary but to clean this they spray chemicals on the floor and leave them there. When you turn on the shower the floor becomes foamy and it takes some time to rinse it all away before showering. Not big issues on their own, but I was already feeling disappointed by the Hotel.
The room design was nice, a small suite, but laid out nicely and attractive. The room felt more cohesive than the rest of the property.
Union activity at the front of the property for one full day during the stay, with a bullhorn chastising guests for crossing the line and entering the property. Absolutely their right but it still did not feel great and no mention of it was made to guests in any way. Not really sure what the conflict was but it was disruptive as a guest.
I did use the coffee service in the lobby each morning which was nice. The pastries from the restaurant were of poor quality, a croissant that was more like bread is not a great start to the morning. I took two to go, no butter, no jam, nothing that would make consuming them better - I did not go near the breakfast restaurant after that.
All told it was just an average Hyatt hotel with mediocre service and little of the original charm and character left. Personally I would not recommend or return, but it is an average Hotel in a convenient location in Downtown LA.

Holiday inns and single room in a house Airbnb is my usual jam, but I’m starting to have an okay amount of money to not feel the pain of splurging every now and then. With the help of some credit card points, I decided to book here as a nice little treat myself.
The location is hard to beat if you need to be around certain DTLA venues. I was mainly in the room as a staycation type of travel since I needed to do some work and generally kick back after 2 pretty work intensive months
Maybe this is still not the price point which I should have high expectations? The biggest appeal to me was a nicer bathroom and a pretty great king sized bed, but after that I didn’t feel it was wildly different than cheaper hotels I stayed in growing up. I was hoping for at least a smart tv that could link to Netflix, but no dice.
Nice space but for the staycation vibe, I’d look elsewhere. I booked a standard room with a king sized bed

The elevators made my s.o. nauseous. The hotel charges a daily fee to account for their pool and gym (which I did not use), coffee at breakfast (also not used, but breakfast is an additional charge), boxed water (not provided unless asked for), wifi access, and the coffee in the room. They do not have provided parking, but $49/night valet, which they will charge an additional 10% parking tax, which I cannot understand the reason for. The room was small and nothing special. The TV regularly had connection issues. There is not light switch on the wall when walking in, so we had to search for a switch for the tiny lamp on the table right by the door. It turned out to be tucked behind the table. The bathroom light switch is not placed in an intuitive spot. The shower has a weird setup, with three levers, but they provided instructions, which turned out to be wrong. After 1 day of showering, the temperature lever stopped doing anything about changing water temp, so lovely cold showers were had. The morning of our check out, we were kicked off Wifi by 7 a.m., even though checkout was hours later. There is a restaurant in the hotel that has a decent breakfast, but we learned that to order takeout was for pickup with a 24% "room service" charge. If they are busy, do not bother trying to put a name in. The host is hardly at the stand and is bad about following up with those waiting. Ultimately, we spent over $700 for the room, but we were charged almost an additional $100/night on top of that for pointless services and for valet. While this was conveniently located close to L.A. Convention Center, we were very frustrated with paying around $1,000.00 for 3 nights with the experience we had.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed with your recent stay, Ashley. While our valet and destination fees are disclosed on our website, it sounds like they caught you by surprise. We will try to do a better job communicating about these fees in the future. I also appreciate you sharing the issues you experienced in your room—I will be sure that we look into those. Great property located in walking distance to the convention center. Nice pool atmosphere but lacking on F&B options near the pool. The resort fee is expensive and unnecessary in my opinion as they don't provide any extra services or value for the resort fee.
The internet was solid for a business use. The main floor restaurant / bar area has a great atmosphere and is very appealing.
The elevators are very slow unfortunately.
Awesome staff!
Valet parking onsite is prompt and car park is literally beside the hotel, no long walks.
I'd stay again if needed.

We were looking for a hotel within walking distance of the Crypto.com arena. Hotel Figueroa is a very convenient walk to/from the stadium and our room was very quiet (note we stayed on a weeknight).
We really like the charm and character of the hotel. It was a refreshing change to stay in an older hotel with that has been updated with today's modern conveniences while still retaining the character of a building constructed 100 years ago.
The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, and our room was perfectly clean.

The Figueroa Hotel is a beautiful, classy Hyatt hotel in downtown LA. The history and art in the building and rooms added character that you don’t find in most other chain hotels. The only thing lacking that I really wanted was a hot tub. The area has a bit of downtown grunge, specifically the graffitied abandoned towers nearby, a few homeless citizens, and the occasional smell of pot. However, it beats downtown San Francisco, San Diego and Portland by 100% in every way, and we felt safe walking around even at night, and the entire neighborhood was obviously cleaned regularly. The staff in particular was great about providing service that felt genuine. I will definitely be returning.

This location convenient to many downtown LA locations was a fantastic stay. Although at first the cramped check-in space seemed foreboding, it was quick to see that this was a wonderful and unique property. The rest of the lobby, including the lounge and restaurant, was open and beautiful. There was also a lot of inviting seating areas in the lobby area. The rooms were beautiful; they were very unique, but modern. My first room had a shower that I could not stand up in, so front desk staff immediately were able to get me another room, and had my belongings delivered to the new room. The new room was spacious, with a very comfortable seating area, a comfortable bed, and a large bathroom.
The pool area was incredible (befitting for downtown LA), with lots of poolside lounging areas (including propane fire tables), and an inviting indoor/outdoor pool bar area. It was really easy to lose track of time relaxing here!
The staff here was fantastic throughout my stay.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this awesome property again.
