We stayed here in January of 2017 for two nights. We were in LA for work and loved the downtown location. There are a lot of great restaurants in walking distance. I was able to work out in the gym and swim laps in the pool. Included in the room was a fantastic breakfast buffet. The beds were really comfortable...

I've been traveling to Downtown LA for over a year. As I travel for business, I do appreciate a good location and a quiet room. I have stayed in at least 6 different hotels and all of them have pros and cons. The Los Angeles Athletic Club became my favorite after my first stat. The room was clean, the bed...

I absolutely love the Athletic Club. It begins with world class service and amenities unlike any other hotel in Los Angeles. The basketball court and swimming pool are out of this world. The great part is the access is FREE, along with FREE breakfast and FREE internet. It is a fantastic value.

The Los Angeles Athletic Club is one of the legendary places where many American Olympic athletes trained. The trophies are displayed in the elegant library next to the ballroom. This is not a normal hotel, it is very special. The location is great. You can park your car comfortably in a garage adjacent to the hotel from which you can...

We recently hosted our daughter's New Year's Eve wedding here. It was really a destination wedding for everyone except the bride and groom who live in L.A. Both families and many out of town guests stayed for several nights. Everything was beyond our wildest dreams. Every vendor recommended by the wedding coordinator, Roxie, was excellent. The chef worked with my...

I stayed in LAAC a few times already. For business and for pleasure. The building is an old historical amazing architectural. The atmosphere is absolutely unique. Most of the building is occupied by the Club: each floor have some amenities for sport: a basketball course, gym, run course, one great 25m swimming pool. ALL inside the building. The environment is...

I love this building and all the Art Deco era in Downtown LA along with the renovations and the way they had preserved old buildings charm and made them into current working business and attractions. This hotel is beautiful, might be a bit dark because of the use of wood inside but if you appreciate old charm and architecture this...

Thank you for staying at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. We are happy you enjoyed your stay with us. If you choose to stay with us again, I'd like to suggest our complimentary downtown shuttle. My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in October / November. What this hotel has is character and history (and great athletic amenities, free for guests). It's a little slice of LA's past, still open-for-business. Once you leave the lobby, which is a little run-down, the facilities, accommodations, bar and restaurant are all very good. Room was big...

We stayed on the top floor which has been renovated and we really enjoyed the room which is well priced. The elevators are rickety. You are going up and down with people in workout clothes. Parking is right there on site and the bar is classic and great. If you need to be downtown it is conveniently located. Nice for...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
