This is the best location if you want to stay right on the beach. It is in the center of Venice beach and Santa Monica Peir. The rooms are average but comfortable and clean. The roof top is defiantly nothing flash but it's nice up there at night to catch your breath. I felt safe inside the hotel but outside...

Whenever we come to Venice beach, this is the only hotel we will stay in. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff is amazing and the view from the roof is bar-none. The queen ocean view is beautiful and recently we had the family apartment, which was amazing. Definitely give this hotel a shot, you won't be disappointed.

I brought my 16 yr old daughter and my 15 yr old nephew for their first visit to Venice. We arrived around noon and had no problem getting a parking space. Yes, it is quite a tight area but very doable. Knowing that check in wasn't until 3:00, we went in to let them know that we were parked in...

Just an overnighter to visit Venice Beach. Took to 2 eleven year olds for a day at the beach (it was cloudy both days, bummer). Got there at 1:30 and asked for an early check-in, the blonde girl at the front desk was nice and helpful, she actually ran up the stairs to see if the room was ready, but it...

If you like being right by the beach, in fact being able to see and hear the sounds of the beach from your room, this place is for you. While its an older place, the renovations have brought it largely up to date. It's clean and comfortable, with no frills. Pros: clean, right on the beach, plenty of places to...

The hotel is located in an excellent area but the hotel is quit miserable and disgusting! The staff is rude and lazy, the hotel is hot with no AC, the flooring, carpet and walls are nasty, and they will not tell you what you will be paying for until check-out. I was charged unknown fees and went close to $200...

I had been promised a room with a view but the view in the small cramped room turned out to be of the tops of the buildings next door, complete with ugly metal things. I will say that the next day they did move us into the room across the hall that I requested and that actually did have a...

This is one of the oldest hotels in LA, and was where many movie stars looking for a beach vacation back in the 1920s stayed. Obviously Venice has changed a lot since then. The scene on the beach outside the hotel can get pretty wild, but that is part of the Venice ambience of today. To me the biggest problem is...

My wife and I booked this hotel for a short L.A. get away in June and for what we wanted it was perfect. Now we'd seen this place from the outside before when we had stayed at another hotel in Venice and were exploring the board walk so we knew where it was but for those of you wondering about...

This hotel is comfortable and really well located. We were on the ocean in the heart of Venice Beach. We enjoyed it with 2 twelve year olds, and if you want to feel Callifornia 'funky' this is the place. What fun. Both Santa Monica and Muscle Beach are a short walk away. Good restaurants are close too.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
