amazing breakfast, direct on venice beach, amazing location! I had a car, no idea how public transport is but it seemed to be fine. However, the place could have a bit more bathrooms and a bigger breakfast location, was kind of crowed in the morning

this was truly a great experience. I had just come off a long bus ride from Oakland and they made my check in very smooth and told me that tonight was limo/clubbing night and I had a freaking blast. Great atmosphere and met some great people. If you guys have anyway to help me see the pictures from that night...

Nice staff, diverse & fun activities and great location near venice beach but the only thing was hygiene. Our room(Private double with shared bathroom) had a sink and it smelled bad, the common room was not clean. Bed was too small for two persons, even if we had a spare bed, didn't use it cause it was too dirty. Shared...

I have stayed at most hostels in Southern California area and found Samesun Hostel the best!!! Great location, fun activities, great hostel mates from all over the world, love the laundry service and breakfast! But the best part about this hostel is the people who work there. Special shout out to Sarah, Sam, and Ryder for their awesomeness!!!

My room was clean . Breakfast was ok , could have added bananas , cheese and cold cuts . . There was no room to hang with a t.v in . Near the boardwalk beach but way too many filthy homeless people all over the beach area . Dangerous for tourists.

The staff was laid back, but on every task. Comfort is definitely priority and they took time to gather everyone for activities coordinated by the hostel. I'll be staying there again ASAP. Thanks Samesun.

This hostel is everything I wanted it to be. The staff was great, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was tasty. The best part about this hostel is the location. Being right on Venice Beach, you have access to an endless amount of activities. Definitely will return in the future.

Due to my very very short stay-just only 12 hours -I can honestly say: The best recommendations for Samesun Venice Beach is it´s location! It is very close to the beach and this was my reason for choosing. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was okay.

The room had more amenities than I expected, the key one being the private bathroom. I didn't stay in one of the dorms, but the place seemed pretty quiet after 22:00 so provided your comfortable sleeping around others, seems like a good budget alternative.

Great view of the beach, not far from lax and Santa Monica pier. Lots of bars in the area. But watch out for souvenir shops, they are a ripoff and they cheat customers. Free breakfast was not that impressive. All they had was some bread and pancakes.

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
