The Dow motel is a pleasant place to stay. We loved Death Valley, Alabama hills and MT. Whitney area. Great weather and beautiful area. Excellent area for hiking and exploring. We didn't have very good luck with food at Lone Pine.

On our way from Boise, ID to Peoria, AZ, we drove down through the Owen's River valley. Dow Villa graciously accommodated our Havanese puppy, and provided an excellent room. Although it is located directly on the highway in town, our unit (24) was not affected by any noise. Comfortable bed, good shower, and TV worked fine. Amply-sized parking spots were...

Location, location, location Great movie historical place, good service, small room. Many interesting restaurant, shops in the street. John Wayne has made 7 (?) movies in Lone Pine. Nice place with Sierra Nevada in the back ground, just after Death Vally and Badlands.

The location is very attractive for a stopover on the way to Death Valley, and it comes with a lot of history in the form of stories around famous movies & stars from the past & present. With the Alabama Hills nearby to explore, and beautiful views of Mt. Whitney it offers a lot in addition. Rooms are big enough,...

This place is great! Front desk to housekeeping keep up the good work! Location is perfect, in a sweet town. Have been to Lone Pine many times my first stay here, won't be my last! Location is great, after a long drive park the car and enjoy the town and stay at this centralized hotel and walk everywhere.

This was our third or fourth stay at Dow Villa. The place is a mix of an old and historic hotel, with a modern motel adjacent. We chose to stay in the hotel again. The first night the room was okay, but the bed too small for comfort with my cold and snoring! The front desk cheerfully changed us to...

We were in Lone Pine to see the Alabama Hills and decided to spend the night. The Dow Villa came highly recommended. The praise was justified. First, there are two parts. There is the historic hotel and the smaller units next to it. The units are AAA rated, but the hotel is not. We were told that this was related...

The history of this hotel was amazing. Anyone who has watched old cowboy movies would be enthralled just being in this place. John Wayne, Errol Flynn to name a few have all stayed here. Photos everywhere. Rooms are okay but the price was not expensive. Staff were wonderful. On the main road, lots of trucks going past but we had...

Stayed for a quick overnight trip up to Lone Pine. This hotel is really convenient since it is located in the main part of town. It looks like it has been remodeled recently and the rooms are super nice. The bed was comfy. The office staff was very helpful and responded to our questions and request for help immediately

Fair pricing, clean rooms, local history (The Duke stayed here). For an older motel it's very nice, the rooms have been renovated. Mini fridge in the room is very handy to store your road snacks overnight. Pack your bathing suits because the spa by the pool has an amazing view of mount Whitney.
