Don't be put off by the retro look of this sweet old motel. Although it is not part of a chain (although it was--it still is owned by the family that was co-founder of Travel Lodge, and was originally Travel Lodge number 21) and is not fancy, it is comfortable and clean and the greeting you will get from Maureen...

Ok location downtown La Jolla; a beautiful village. The motel is small, old and though the family that runs it is sweet, you'll wish for something more updated and pleasant. It's on a noisy and busy corner; the furniture is barely acceptable and the bathroom couldn't be tinier. "Breakfast" is served but is just coffee and a role of some...

As a motel, it is about average, but at the price they charge per night, you cannot beat their location. We attended the Wine and Art Festival on Girard Avenue. It is just one block off the venue and the main stage is right There! Maureen, the manager, is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate and clean. This...

The motel was clean and comfortable and you could not beat the location. The motel had everything I needed and the price was right. Breakfast was basic but good quality -- toast, juice, coffee. Parking is limited. It seems like they just barely have enough spaces, especially if you return late at night. I will stay here on future visits...

This little gem was a great find. Rooms clean, front desk staff very knowledgable, walking distance to beaches and eats. Also public transportation across street. Happen to be there for local music fest. We had a great blues band rite in our parking lot!

We stayed 1 night in August, perfect location and very friendly and helpful owner! Close to restaurants, shopping and beach. With some updates this motel could be even better. We would come back anytime.

The missus and I, never ones to be quick on the draw, were among the last to book lodging for a wedding for which we were singing in San Diego. Yeah, sure, the other attendees were able to stay at the fancy-schmancy hotels, but they missed the hidden pearl of the La Jolla Village Lodge. Maureen, the owner, took over...

This was a last minute trip and I was lucky to find a place to stay. The owner and her assistant, I guess that's what he is, are very friendly. However, when I got to my room there was a different story. The room didn't feel clean and when I got out of the shower I found the the carpet...

An old fashioned only slightly run down independent hotel/motel. Clean. Friendly. Easy walk to all kinds of great things that are in La Jolla--beaches (with sea lions), luxury shopping, terrific restaurants. Good place, great value.

Tired of long traffic lines and no parkin? Then make a plan next year to enjoy the 4th of July. We live in San Diego and just wanted a better way to see the fireworks. We stayed one night for $200 (including tax). They will let you park there free before check in , provided there is room (which there...
