This is the most comfortable and clean hostel that I have visited. (And, I've stayed at several U.S. and non-U.S. hostels.) I stayed in the women's dorm and lucked out; no one else was in my room. The bed was comfortable, the dorm was very clean (down to the linens--sometimes hostel linens are kinda gross), and the bathroom and dressing... More

Our family spent Christmas break at the hostel. The staff was vary friendly and helpful. The room comfortably fit our adult family and all of our ski gear. The main building was a perfect place to relax, cook and eat. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. We have nothing but good things to say about the hostel! I... More

I can't say enough about Hostel Tahoe. This place rocks! Everyone is great; Grace and Dawn make you feel so welcome and give great tips! All the people I have met here have been so interesting and fun to be around. The community here is wonderful. But if you don't feel like being social, no problem! All the rooms are... More

I stayed by myself during January 2015 for almost a week. Rooms are quite simple, clean, with good heating. I just loved the common room, is the perfect place to chill after hitting the slopes! Grace and Dawn were awesome hosts: very kind, and the perfect "Tahoe advisors". During the weekend there was a delicius free breakfast with homemade cupcakes... More

The only hostel in Tahoe, this place is in a great location, and is clean, warm, welcoming, and affordable. The common area and kitchen are very welcoming, and create a nice communal hangout area. Our room had a very comfortable, cozy queen sized bed, with a twin bunk above. The room was pretty big, and with the extra bed it... More

If you are looking for an affordable, comfortable place to stay on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, Hostel Tahoe is a great option. The hostel combines the best aspects of a hotel (quiet, private rooms) with the friendly atmosphere and affordability of a hostel. The rooms are clean and comfy, and there is a big community living room and... More

A great, clean place to stay and serve as a base for exploring the Tahoe area. We stayed one night in a private room with queen bed. The room was very clean and had a nice casual vibe. We made use of the kitchen to cook dinner, which is one of the most well-stocked hostel kitchens I've never been in.... More

The girl running the place was extremely friendly and welcoming and the free breakfast was good. The place, however, is quite noisy as the main road out of town is just outside. The bunk beds are also SUPER loud and squeeky. They do provide earplugs to help but personally I'd rather stay somewhere quieter

Had a fantastic stay here. It was my 2nd hostel. Service is great, very clean. Great value. Common areas are modern and pretty. Location is perfect to walk everywhere . They even had complimentary bikes to use. My only negative is the old uncomfy warped queen mattress on the squeaky loud shaky metal bunk bed. But big thumbs up and... More

We stayed in a family room at Hostel Tahoe. Check in was very easy and location was great - easy walk along King's Beach to cafés and restaurants etc. The hostel has been set up really well with easy shared facilities in the kitchen, good sized fridges and food storage, and a cozy lounge area. Free wifi, knowledgeable staff and... More
