I'm a big fan of Japan ski trips and over the years have gone to different resorts around Nagano and Hokkaido and have always had a good time. This was different - this was bad. I'm going to echo a lot of other traveler's sentiments here: Transportation - perhaps its biggest inconvenience and failing. Like a lot of others, my...

We have just returned to Tokyo after a 2 night stay here. We had a fabulous time! The hotel is on the older side but is clean and very well maintained. Our room was large and had a bathtub which is a huge plus to me! It was dated but not unpleasant and again clean with comfortable beds. The internet...

The access to get to this hotel is not easy because you have to take a shuttle bus after arriving at the train station. Imagine carrying your luggages in the cold evening and have to wait for the shuttle bus which suddenly become crowded of passengers and luggages. We still had to wait and queue on the check in counter,...

Stayed in one of the 4-bedroom cabins as part of a family skiing trip. Easy access to the ski slopes, either walk or take the shuttle, and an easy walk down into Karuizawa town, well worth exploring.. Beautiful to wake up in the cabins among the trees - very warm and comfortable inside despite the cold outside, and we were...

Stayed four nights in 4 bedroom cabin during the week following Chinese New Year... and it was my worst ski trip in over 20 years. Highlights (or rather low-lights): Poor value for money. Food is embarrassingly bad for Japan. "Mountain" is really just a hill. Cabin is barebones. Painful transport to get from train station to cabin if lugging small...

During our family trip to Tokyo, we went to the Karuizawa Prince Hotel and Ski Resort for a 2 days 1 night stay. The feeling is mixed, it is conveniently connected to Tokyo by JR, it has a pretty big factory outlet, but it has a poorly managed ski resort center. It took us only 1.5 hour from Tokyo to...

It's not a good place when you want to relax during Chinese New Year. Too crowded. The lobby was just like a market, many many people there. The overcrowded shuttle bus was another nightmare. There were 3 breakfast restaurants (New York-buffet, Asama-buffet, and one Japanese style.) I recommend to Asama instead of New York, though New York was more elegant....

After enjoy two nights staying at Komoro Si (小諸市)hotel (Nakada Nasou 中棚庄人文別館), we shift to Prince hotels & Resorts,Karuizawa for last day's program. Actually, for the past two decades, I had many experiences to stay at Prince hotel which it spreads in whole Japan region. However, this hotel with full phytoncide air is able to wake you up early. Finally,...

We stayed in the 2 room cottage for 3 nights. The room is clean, spacious with comfortable heating. Sound-proof is good and we couldn't hear anything from next door. Staff is polite, accommodating and speak good English! However, there is no night ski area around hotel west and not a lot of choices for food. East hotel maybe a better...
