We were over from the UK and looking for something a bit more "authentic" and spotted this hotel on Trip Advisor. What a find. It oozes charm, the staff are great and the room was excellent - all we had hoped for. Added to this...More

Peter....thank you for your critique. We take a lot of pleasure in providing an authentic and historic California Inn. The same for our restaurant, which many consider to be the best quality in this area.
Thank you, again.
Had a hearing in Sonora and thought I would try something different rather than where I usually stay in Sonora, and something that had a restaraunt. It only takes between 21/2 to 3 hours to get here from the Bay Area, an hour longer if...More

Melvin...thank you for your critique of this historic hotel and restaurant. We strive to provide the level of service that comes to be expected by those who desire quality and value. We might add, that the herbs utilized in our restaurant kitchen are grown on...More
A delightful change from run-of-the-mill, unimaginative & sterile chain operations.
The National has a distinctive gold-rush character, loaded with charm. Maintaining a property such as this cannot be easy, but the present owner is doing an exemplary job!

We decided to do a little middle of the week hunt for the famous ghost Flo at the National Hotel in Jamestown. We didn't know we would discover a really delightful place to stay and a superb restaurant. The bar is old like you expect...More

Thank you Samantha for your review. Indeed, this boutique hotel is one of the 10 oldest in the State of California and it is important to us, to maintain and accurately reflect the history of this restored property.

Very sorry, we do not have refrigerators in the rooms. We have a walk in type of refrigerator in the restaurant, downstairs, that we can store items in overnight.

Thank you for considering us. Parking is off premises, either in the parking lot next door, or on the street which most consider to be quite safe. This hotel pre-dates automobiles and the old horse stable still stands, less than a block away. We have on occasion, parked bikes or a show car in our driveway. This would not be a big problem.
Hope that this helps.
