Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Nice gold rush, western character to the historic hotel...and if you are lucky (?) you might even meet Flo, the resident ghost who I've been told is quite friendly. Our room #7 was well appointed and bright with nice large windows on the sunnier side of the property. The attached double shower head shower...

Ron...Thank you for your response and for sharing two of your concerns. When you were here, we had just opened the patio for dining having been closed for the Winter and, had not yet fortified the area with mosquito repellent. Although this was done by the next day, it did not help in your case. Smoking near the outside of...

I stayed here with family a few years back. I have to say, the hotel and the rooms were beautiful! The prices were very good as well. The hotel is located on the main historic street, and you are within walking distance to several great restaurants and boutique shops. I plan to stay here again in the future; perfect for...

Thank you for your review. Our boutique hotel is one of the 10 oldest in the State of California, and we have tried to maintain the integrity of its history during all of our restoration work. We also listen to our customers and try to anticipate their needs and wishes. Thank you, again.

A real step back in time with fabulous rooms, saloon bar and restaurant. The fixtures and fittings are all antique and the bathrooms a delight. Very comfortable and an enjoyable restaurant. We would have loved to stay longer!

Chris....Thank you for your review. The National Hotel & Restaurant is one of the 10 oldest still operating in the State of California circa 1859. We have completely restored the hotel and tried to keep with the authenticity for which it stands. Thank you again.

This is a favorite B and B for us. Friendly staff and helpful with information. The staff is helpful in every way. Every detail in the decor was spot on. The shower heads are ceramic. The chain flush toilet is real. The needle point pictures are real. The open doors make it fun to see the other rooms. You could...

Thank you Toni for your review. We always strive to provide the best possible service to our clientele. That is why we grow our own herbs for the kitchen and bake our own breads, etc. Also, the night you were here, we actually had 3 other rooms at the same time, they just had not come down to breakfast during...

The feel of an old cowboy hotel and saloon with really friendly staff. Everyone does a bit of everything so it all runs smoothly. There aren't any TVs in the room but you can ask for one if you need your fix. We didn't want one as we didn't want to spoil the authentic feel of the hotel. We had...

Up in the Big Tree Country and we over nighted in Jamestown. A sort of funky blast from the past village and we were booked into the National Hotel for the night. Decor very Victorian and mine host cheerily greeted us and showed us our rooms which were all set out in period furniture. Although quite compact the rooms were...

One of our favourite hotels we stayed in. I was really looking forward to staying here and it didn't disapoint. The decor was amazing lovingly restored and decorated as it should look when it was a hotel in the 1800s. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lots of information of things to do. There was a lovely patio where...

We visited the National Hotel last month on a road trip round California and after a day in Yosemite. Its a really charming friendly hotel in a lovely town where you can feel the gold rush theme. Lisa....Thank you for your positive response. Indeed, it was a pleasure to meet and talk with you, especially, with all the gold knowledge that you shared.
