I surprised my wife with an early Valentine's day trip to Idyllwild and chose the Idyllwild bunkhouse for our stay. The ownership just recently changed and couldn't have been more accommodating. Mischel (innkeeper) as well as Raj and his wife (owners) impressed on every level including a complimentary bottle of champagne in our fridge. We stayed in the Woodland Vista...

In my books, this place is a definite 'must stay'. As a travel counselor, I have been to many places and have a lot to compare to. Upon arrival, I was met by the most pleasant hostess and was asked if I would be checking out before breakfast was delivered. This piqued my interest and I advised her that I...

Was in Idyllwild for a friends wedding and made the mistake of staying here in room 12, i put in the room because other rooms may be better. the metal Shower stall was so rusted that the pan was separating from the frame and the top of the sink was only 20 inches from the floor so it came just...

I've stayed here several times over the years and always enjoy a return visit. The log cabin interior is warm and welcoming, and it's so convenient having a full kitchen. Nice view of the trees from the private deck off the back. Walls are thin and I've heard some interesting things happening on the other side, but this is a...

Will miss this quaint place to relax and get away from the turmoils of the big city.Hope the new owner will restore the place and re open it again. It is in need of new shower stalls, carpeting and in general needs to be cleaned up and modernized.

Spent one night over labor day weekend with my son. Property was not in town but was a short drive away from restaurants & businesses. Quaint property with a lot of history and fairly well maintained. Clean. TV was old and shower was ancient but worked ok. Breakfast was delivered to our door in a cute basket with oatmeal, apple,...

I Googled romantic getaways in Southern California for our 25th anniversary getaway and this came up. Pros: Close to town of Idyllwild, breakfast delivered to your door (in a little fishing basket) with fresh baked scones, pretty good hiker's picnic made by sister hotel Strawberry Creek Inn, lots of good places to hike or rock climb nearby, nice balcony with...

The Strawberry Creek Bunkhouse is very rustic, built in the 50's, bed was comfortable, the kitchenette was adequate, the proximity to downtown Idyllwild was very convenient. It was great using the motel as our "base-camp", and spending our days wandering the streets and shops of Idyllwild. The restaurants were great for lunch and dinner. My wife and I look forward...

Booked this accommodation for our get away. I wanted somewhere where there are local accessible hiking and not too commercial. I have read a few reviews and yes, it may not be a place for everyone but that totally depends on what one is looking for. The place didn't disappoint, all throughout the booking and reservation process, communication was consistent...

We stayed here on a motorcycle trip to Idyllwild. Great location but that's it. Once you check in you're on your own. No management or ownership on site the entire weekend. Rooms are ok, but HOTTER THAN A SAUNA. Air conditioning is totally ineffective as were the ceiling fan and the free standing fan. Bathroom is disgusting! Shower needs to...
