Beautiful facility and public spaces, wrap around porch with a lovely view (including humming birds and vineyards), large, clean, comfortable room to spread out and relax, hosts that are friendly and helpful but know how to give you space, yummy breakfasts. What more can you ask for? Dane offered, and we accepted, a tour through his vineyard with an explanation...

We stayed at the Raford Inn during a 4-night stay in Sonoma County in mid-August. The innkeepers and the staff were all very gracious and knowledgable hosts. Our room was excellent (very nice shower!) and the breakfasts were wonderful. We'll be back.

We only stayed here for a night but wish we stayed longer. Dane and Rita were welcoming and very helpful to make recommendations for restaurant and make reservations. The shared wine and cheese with all of the guests each evening on their expansive porch which over looks spectacular vineyards. After breakfast Dane shows guest how he makes his own wine....

When I think of the Raford Inn, I recall Dane & Rita's wine & cheese each evening on the porch overlooking vineyards, delicious breakfasts, comparing notes on restaurants & vineyards with fellow guests, and our gracious & knowledgeable hosts themselves. Not only did they suggest excellent restaurants & wineries, they also helped us deal with 2 cases of wine that...

We returned once again to the place of our honeymoon nearly 10 years ago - we determined it was our 5th or 6th stay at the Raford Inn, and we see more in our future. It's obvious that Rita and Dane love this home and they translate that into a comfortable stay for their guests. The view from the porch...

My wife and I stayed at the Raford in 27 - 30 August 2011 needing some time to "recharge our batteries". It was the first vacation of more than 1 day for either of us and we traveled from the Chicago are to Sunny California. The drive from San Francisco International was a bit long. We took 101 all the...

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Raford Inn. The entire experience was excellent and memorable. Dane and Rita are excellent innkeepers and hosts. From the initial greeting to the tour of Dane's vineyard and wine making on our last day, we felt like valued guests. The breakfasts around the table were pleasurable, the wine and cheese gathering...

Rita and Dane made you feel like you were visiting friends. Dane gave us a hands-on introduction to the art of grape-growing and wine-making. Rita presided over the breakfast table in a friendly manner. And the house and location were truly special! It all adds up to an unforgettable experience. We'll be back! Love, Ingund and Knut

We had the pleasure of staying with Dane and Rita last week. Everything was perfect--the early evening wine tasting, enjoying morning tea on the porch, and our wonderful breakfast. We even enjoyed a 'private' tour of their vineyard, hosted by Dane. I can't say enough about Dane and Rita's hospitality. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived. The property...

We stayed at the Raford Inn for three nights during a California road trip. We chose it on the basis of the great Trip Advisor reviews and we weren't disappointed! Dane and Rita are fantastic hosts, and from the minute we arrived we were made to feel really welcome. It sounds like a cliche, but it felt like we were...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This classic Victorian Plantation landmark manor house, built in 1880, once presided over a huge empire of hops. Converted to an intimate country bed and breakfast in 1980 it sits upon a knoll above an unspoiled Russian River vineyard valley ringed by redwood forested mountains. Lovingly preserved it is a place of quiet beauty in the hills of Healdsburg Wine Country. Return now to a time and place that has not quite yet gone by. ... more   less
