Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We stayed early August for four nights. Arriving in the afternoon to a very warm welcome by farmer Reg in time for the afternoon Farm duties. My children aged 3 and 1 absolutely loved feeding the chickens, milking the cows ,attending to the horses. We Stayed in the cottage.A beautiful little place with a nice big balcony on the front overlooking the country with a nice fireplace. the cottage was very cozy and Comfortable with everything you need inside. Just remember to bring your own food and drinks. We were given fresh eggs Daily by farmer Kathy as the children got to collect them. They were very yummy. We absolutely loved our stay. Hospitality was fantastic ,farmer Reg and Kathy were awesome hosts. We definitely will return one day. Bunyip Mountain which is only a short drive away its spectacular. If you’re looking for a great family farm stay getaway I highly recommend this one.

What more can I say. Bunyip springs was exactly what i was looking for when I was researching farmstays for my birthday. Kathy was an amazing and  friendly host. She let us feed the farm animals, collect and keep the eggs from the chickens and even milk the cows! I loved waking up in the mornings and being greeted my the cows at the doorstep. Can't forget to mention Bonnie the friendliest farm dog who loves to interact with the guests and come to your door to say hello and extra pats. Will definitely be back in the future and will bring the kids next time. Highly recommended.

Had a great few days on the farm with Kathy and Reg who were fantastic in every respect. Our 3 and a half year old son had a ball helping out with Farm duties each morning and afternoon. Staying in the unit was more than comfortable.
I'd recommend this Property to anyone wanting a break from their City lives to go and relax and get away from it all.

My family and I (2 adults, 2 girls ages 7 and 8) really enjoyed our stay at Bunyip Springs.

We stayed in the cottage and found it to be impeccably clean and very comfortable. Big enough for the four of us but probably not for larger families. We did a double take at the beautiful old wood stove, but then noticed there was a more modern gas upright which served us well. The ONLY thing I thought was missing from the kitchen was a flat oven tray for the oven, but we found a ceramic baking dish which did the job. Farmer Kathy asked us if we had everything we needed so we could have asked if we wanted.

Highlight of course were the farm chores with Farmer Kathy and Farmer Reg. The morning "chicken run" is something to behold, my girls took the cow milking very seriously and the rides on Kit the horse were a big hit with my two.

Many hours spent reading on the verandah and taking some walks. We even went for a paddle in the creek. We also went to the local waterhole (bring floaties!) and had a meal at the Trading Post, which was lovely.

We have booked again for winter, hoping to light a camp fire and do some more walking on the property as the grass was too long as it had been raining when we were there.

Can't wait to be back to see Kathy, Reg, Bonnie and the crew!

We’ve been coming here for years and it is just a wonderful experience for kids and adults. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful and Farmer Kathy and Reg are kind thoughtful hosts. The accommodation is spotless and homely, with everything you need. The animals are wonderful and friendly, Bonnie the dog is something special. You can see a billion stars at night and the sunsets are extraordinary. Plenty of farm activities for all to enjoy. We’ll keep coming back!

This farm stay is one of the best farm stays that we have found in this part of the world! This was our 4th time there and loved it even more this time round! Our kids are now teenagers and thought they would be getting too old but they loved it! They have lots and lots of chicken that the kids feed and play with, alpacas they feed and lead around, cows they feed and milk each day and horses they feed and ride. Really great place to relax and unwind! Well worth the visit! We have booked again for the same period next year!

We loved the rest and relaxation we experienced out on the farm. Our 10 year old was in her glory helping out with the chores twice a day and being able to use the eggs and milk she collected was great. It was 35 degrees when we visited but we still were able to sleep comfortably in the cottage without air-con. Kangaroos in the morning, tons of birdlife, lots of space to hike. Close to the national park as well so we drove there for an outing. I highly recommend Bunyip Springs for a quite get-away.

Friendly hosts and a great place for the kids to enjoy with the farm animals.....My kids enjoyed the farm activities very much, such as milking the cows, feeding the alpacas and chickens. Horse riding is something the kids were looking forward too...

We were welcomed to Bunyip Springs by Kathy with her chickens, dogs, alpacas etc as we drove through the gate and were shown to The Lodge. Beautiful views, well appointed, spotless, comfortable, spacious, self contained, fully screened house with comfortable beds, small TV/DVD, large bathroom, relaxing verandah with gas BBQ. Full sized fridge, stove/oven, microwave. Lots of crockery, cutlery and saucepans. Hands on farm stay activities twice a day are optional. Feeding chickens, ducks, alpacas, horses, patting dogs, milking cows, gathering eggs. No wifi but did not miss it. Ran out of time to do the walks or look for platypus. Great fun for all ages. Kathy is an excellent host - friendly, gentle and patient. All of her animals are good natured. Cooler weather in Maidenwell due to elevation and less humidity further from the coast. Good to visit the Maidenwell Trading Post, Hotel and Coomba Falls. Try the local Yalbury Olive products at the Maidenwell Trading Post.

Bunyip Springs Farmstay is a real find. The accommodation is lovely, spotlessly clean, with beautiful breezes and views from the front veranda (we were in the lodge). The farm experience for our kids (10 and 7) was genuine and wonderful, and Kathy, Reg and Bonnie (the dog) are fantastic hosts. The landscape is beautiful despite the drought, the alpacas are friendly, and if you are looking for a way to support rural communities and enjoy yourself, we would recommend Bunyip Springs to anyone.
