Hi Helen! Many of our cabins are stand-alone units, however, the type of cabin you select may play a role in whether you're placed in a stand-alone unit or duplex unit. Although we cannot guarantee cabin location, we will do our best to assign you to a stand-alone unit if you make note of your preference during the booking process. But rest assured, we rarely receive complaints about noise from our duplex cabins. We hope this helps as you plan your Yosemite trip, and be sure to let us know if you have any additional questions!

Hi there! This is Megan from the Evergreen Lodge jumping in to answer your question. Our guests typically do not have any issues driving from the San Francisco area to us during the winter time, and even in the case of winter weather, we have easy access to the majority of the park's attractions. But do keep in mind that often times during the winter the National Park Service does have seasonal road closures and chain restrictions-- you can review winter travel in Yosemite on the National Park Website.
We hope this helps and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any additional questions as you prepare to join us for your Yosemite adventures.
