Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful hotel surrounded with palm trees and green spaces, great also to sit outside for something. Rooms were huge and clean and nicely decorated, even with kitchenette. Breakfast also ok. We had fun and can recommend the hotel to anyone.

A small motel with a splendid exotic garden and fountain in the center. A genuine Californian atmosphere along historic route 66. Clean rooms, nice and friendly manager.
Breakfast is continental but does not offer savory options.

While on vacation, visiting wife's sister in Glendora. We booked a room for two nights. The guys at the front desk were nice and helpful. Room was huge with a good TV and AC. You might get lucky and get to park close to your room. There are several people living there long term. They we nice. Smoking is in the back, under a shaded area. Not Bad. Would I stay there again. YES, in fact we booked another night later on trip. Average price $100.

Once your expectations are set that it's a budget motel, you'll notice that everything works well.

Reception staff are friendly and helpful, they were very cooperative whenever needed.
Plenty of parking spaces in the area and it felt safe.
Room is cleaned daily and is bigger than your average hotel room, so it's comfortable. Wifi is decent, there's a laundry room and it costs around 4$ per load (washing, detergent, one cycle drying).
Plenty of shops within walking distance, that's a big plus and restaurants too. i had a room in the corner so noise was never an issue.

Bathroom and shower are separate from the sink area, but not an issue for me, plenty of towels and shampoo/shower gel if needed.

Gal at front desk was very friendly. We had a second floor room. A/C worked great. Bathroom a little tight, room was spacious and liked the kitchenette. Quiet and small hotel. Parking was ok, some spaces in front and some around back. Free breakfast was ok but could be better. No hot items which is ok but fresh creamer for your coffee would be nice. I would stay here again.

When we went there on Sept 11, 2004, the room were all messy. They haven't been cleaned, none of them. We have to wait for a while. The cleaning is not thorough because it was hastily done.

We brought the reservation form as proof of payment, but they still charged our credit card.

This is an unbelievably horrible hotel.

Stay away as best as you can!!!

We rented three nights at the garden inn and suites in Glendora off rt 66. When we arrived we were instantly greeted by confusion, the front deal people (a young girl, mother and father.) she was very confused and upgraded our room, once the parents came around they wanted to charge us for two beds even though our orbitz reservation stated 2 people. When I tried to explain it became very hostile. The mother wanted to charge for the beds, also for my brother who was with us but not staying. It was insanity, nickle and diming to the extreme. My sister and I are young and it was obvious the family was attempting to rip us off. After crying and complete disarray, the father asked us to leave. Young girls in their early twenties were sent to the streets of Los Angeles where niether of us have been, we were simply trying to not allow these people to take our money unjustly. It was the most traumatic travel experience.

Room (231) was very disgusting. The shower did not work. The t.v. was all blurry. The walls were grossly stained and a picture above the bed was missing, exposing a clean square. There was a square cut out of the carpet (3" x 3") right in the middle of the room exposing the concrete below. The table next to the bed had, what looked liked white out (paint), all over it. The white out was also all over the closet mirror. The closet shelves were knocked out and set back in, exposing the bent nails. If I would set something on it, it would fall. About 8 am the electricity went off, for about an hour. The wall had frosted flakes on it in the corner, looks like someone got sick and it was never cleaned. The lamp hanging above the table, hanging from a chain, was all furry (1/4 inch) with dirt/dust. I left there and went home sick and laid in bed for a week.

Okay, let me start out by saying I am by no means a hotel/motel 'snob'. But this motel was not good. Not good at all. It looks quaint and cute from the outside (and the beautifully cared for roses were stunning), but we got a room that was not refurbished. They used queen sheets on a king bed. Umm, no.We ended up with sheets around our necks because they wouldn't tuck in. There were holes in the walls, lots of ripped wallpaper, and I even had to clean off the 'gunk' from the back of the sink upon our arrival. GROSS. The toilet had some kid's sticker on it. Hello???? They vaccumed, but went around chairs, not even moving them to vaccum underneath. And the 'upgraded continental breakfast? It was dry cereal, Svenharts and coffee out of a machine (NOT a coffee maker). It came out looking like the dirty oil from a car. No thank you.

On 5/5/07 my my son graduated from Azusa Pacifc University. On and off for the past 4 years we stayed at the Guesthoue Inn only because it was close to the college and was somewhat affordable. (approx. 75.00 per night). In January knowing my Son was graduating in May I made reservation for 2 rooms to accommodate my wife and I and my daughter & 2 grandchildren ages 1 & 3). Because I had been paying 75.00 a room all along,I assumed in May the cost was the same and the person I made the reservations with at that time never mentioned an inflated price. When I arrived on May 4th to check in I was informed that because of the week end (graduation & Cinco De Mayo) the cost of each room was $120.00. I was outraged. The conditions of the rooms are terrible and because of the location. The furniture and decore is extremely old. I wouldn't even give this motel a single star rating. In fact my daughter and grandchilden stayed elsewhere. In fact I feel the charge of $75.00 a night for these rooms was rediculous. I have taken several photos dipicting the lack of maintenance of these rooms and plan to send a letter to the Better Business Bureau, Azusa University as well as the Glendora Chamber of Commerce. It is not my intention to try and get my money back, but to let the public know especially those parents visiting their Kids at APU how a motel that advertises their rooms from $66 to $85 a night could in good conscious charge $120 a night. With advanced reservations I probably could have stayed in a 5 star Hotel.
