We stayed at this marvelous in for the weekend. It was my daughter's birthday and I wanted everything to be just right. And it was! The staff were extremely attentive and made sure that all our needs are taken care of and we were made to feel special. What a wonderful feeling! Each room has their own charm and decor....

My daughter is a college student and just needed a weekend away. I found this place tucked up in the mountains and just decided to go for it. Eclectic Historical hotel. You can get a private bathroom or share with another visitor. Everything is dated victorian. I felt like I was living in the past and it was quite nice....

We needed a place to get away from work, family and the common stresses of life. We found the perfect place to reconnect at the American River Inn. When you open the front door, you enter a world of beautiful antiques and outstanding hospitality. Each room is decorated with a different decor theme that makes a stay here even more...

When I called the man who answered was unfriendly and asked me to call back and talk to his wife. She was much friendlier. I asked for a quite room. She booked me on the 3rd floor. It was great until I was awakened around 4:30 am by logging trucks. When asked if I could be moved off of street...

Stayed here one night and really enjoyed it. The room was clean and very well decorated. The evening wine and cheese, and morning breakfast was great also. Overall, lots to like about this historic place in this little town. They were also dog friendly.

I truly enjoyed staying at American River Inn. The decks around the house offer several clean and comfortable places to relax - enjoying refreshments, reading a book, visiting with other guests. The chairs and tables were clean which I appreciated. Breakfast was prepared by the owner, Jason, and was superb! He made pancakes (which were very good!) with cinnamon apples,...

This is so worth a detour! A small town with great small shops, a few bar/saloons and this amazing B&B. Well it's more a museum. A house full of old treasures that you normally only see in museums or occasionally a piece of furniture at someone's house, but this is so amazing, so beautiful and so many interesting objects. And...

During a leisurely trip along Hwy. 49, we stayed overnight at this gorgeous Victorian inn. We arrived in the mid-afternoon and were warmly greeted by the innkeepers, Will and later Maria, who was busy preparing hors d’oeuvres for that evening’s happy hour. Will escorted us to our spacious “honeymoon suite”, Room 5, which was beautifully furnished in antiques and tastefully...

Stayed here for my first anniversary just to get away for the weekend before heading to "apple hill". The wife and I love 1800's California Gold mining and pioneer history and this place is basically a museum. There is so much to look at in the form of art, antiques and overall decor and it is all very charming. The...

I booked the room by phone, and it was nice to hear the owner voice and recommendation about the road and the traffic. We arrive a little late, but Mr. Will greeted us like we were family! Showed us the gorgeous room, and offered me a nice cognac, while chatting about his Inn, and etc. The beds were very comfortable,...
