We've stayed at the Benbow several times. It's a historic inn, with grand lobby, pleasant grounds, and gourmet restaurant. Rooms are comfortable, many have a patio. The inn has some wear (obviously, it's 100 years old) but is undergoing a major remodel (2017.) It's considerably more expensive than anyplace around, but it's also two stars higher than anyplace around.

Thank you for your review. We like our guests who have an appreciation for the historical aspects of our Inn. We are fixing the "wear & tear" with our current restoration, renovation and expansion. This phase includes two state of art kitchens, new cocktail lounge, elevator, 10 new guest suites, two new conference rooms, new public bathrooms and much more....

Stayed in a terrace room being fully aware that they were under construction, in fact the morning of our stay we were called just to make sure we knew..super nice. Still it seems like the place is such a mess it would be better to just wait until the place is cleaned up a bit more. The parking situation is...

Thank you for your response. We are sorry your stay was not what you expected and we apologize for that. We decided to stay open during construction because of request from our regular guests. Overall it has worked out pretty well although there are always bumps in the road when you are under construction. We either failed to get you...

Stayed in the king bed fireplace suite. The inn is currently under construction, so there are no food options available. We were told that before going, and supplied with a list of local eateries. When we went into the room, there was a strong smoke smell from the fireplace. The room above us either checked in late, or came back...

What a lovely historic place to visit! Room was spacious and clean, lots of linens and towels, nice amenities like keurig machine, fridge with snacks, sherry decanter included and got a free bottle of wine! Beautiful view, antique furniture, comfortable beds. Would return again!

Great Historic Inn and Lighthouses to boot. Not sure if you call this a Restaurant review or maybe a Historic Inn review. Could be either but to be fair it has to include both. The lighthouses should be for another review. But lets start off for the reason of the vacation. With our 50-State Quest completed 11 years before we...

What a wonderful way to spend Christmas! Beautifully decorated for the holidays, the colorful ornaments and welcoming fireplace transported me back to childhood. The Inn is closing for a short time in early 2017 to add an elevator (my one regret as I was recovering from foot surgery and stairs were challenging), but I can't think of anything else that...

Thank you so much for your review. Yes, Christmas at Benbow is very special and we have a unique history of celebrating from the decorations (both inside and out), fireplaces, special menus and overall ambiance. We have many return guests who stay for days at a time just to do their Christmas Cards. Yes we will be closing on January...

Our Christmas stay at the Benbow was like stepping back in time. The historic inn was decorated to the 9's for the holiday. Christmas dinner was fantastic and very busy. Locals cone for the fine dining, some dressed in period garb. Tea and the fire in the fireplace make this a grand experience. Note: under some construction, but not a...

We were lucky to get advised to go here instead of the other options around. It has great scenic views and tons of character. It has lots of very old furniture but is updated too. What a great find in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. We were here to see a band play and were so happy we...

We stayed here last weekend as a place to have dinner and get cozy after riding the Christmas Skunk Train in Willits. The Benbow Inn is gorgeous and it is apparent that a lot of work, care and attention to detail go into maintaining it. I'm excited to see what the renovations bring. Our room was cute, the sherry was...
