Stopped here with my Mom on our way to Socal, as I have seen this wonderful place, but had never stopped. You actually stay in refurbished train caboose cars. There are about 26 different cabooses to stay in, all beautifully painted with original colors and logos of the rail lines they ran for. There is a dining car available, but...

Fun place to visit. Staff were super friendly and efficient. The room was clean, fresh and comfy. My Husband loved staying in an authentic caboose. He is a bit of a train buff. The dinners were tasty and there was a good selection of entrees. The drinks were GREAT! I just wish the dinner house was open every night. During...

A nifty little getaway near Shasta. Booked this a few months out. We liked the quiet environment and places to walk. The mountains were just outside our window. This is more kitchy than luxury. Families like the pool and novelty as well. We ate dinner at Railroad restaurant, but there is no place for breakfast unless you bring your own...

My husband found this place a couple of years ago and I am so glad we finally decided to come. Our families have lots of history with the railroad, so it was really awesome to be able to stay in a caboose! The setting of the cars was great. Castle Crags State Park is just south of the resort, so...

We had a blast sleeping in a vintage caboose. Our car had a claws foot tub, a comfy King Sized bed, a cupola with a view, and a little fridge built in to a piece of American History. You are never too old to fall in love with trains. If it weren't for the railroad, our nation would not stretch...

My wife and I like train adventures and someone told us about this place. Was well marked on Highway 5, staff was great, no problem with reservations. Nice paved loop led us to our caboose. Had a blast just checking out the caboose. The area is nice, lots of trees, a creek to one side. The grounds were nice. Had...

This place was everything that I had hoped for and more. Truly kid friendly, wonderfully clean, great air conditioning, an outdoor pool with a view - and of course, incredibly original railroad caboose choices to sleep in and wander around! Our 'room' had two twin beds and a queen, the beds were really comfortable, and the room was surprisingly spacious,...

Driving down the freeway, I spotted the sign that said Railroad Park. I thought it was probably just a museum of train memorabilia. I love trains so pulled in. Boy was I surprised. It is a small resort in the middle of the most incredible scenery. I had planned on camping that night and despite the expense, I rented a...

For one night, you can't beat this place..it's clean..quiet and "old school"..yup..the furnishings are dated..the sheets thin..small, slow coffee pot..weak internet..5 TV channels but that's what we love and don't change anything!! The train car is cool..unique..funky..the grounds are stunning..the views are killer! If you can't handle one night..stay somewhere else because this place is not for everyone!
