We stayed in the wine cellar, which includes 2 queen beds in separate alcoves & a hot tub in the bath. Reliable heating with a gas fireplace, cooling with fans. Separate entrance, deck overlooking meadow. Proprietress, Sam is very sweet. Breakfast fine. A quiet place to stay when visiting Columbia or Sonora.

Our family spent the night here on 12/15. We were treated to the Wine Cellar! And it was a treat. The kids said, "This is the best place we've ever stayed Mom!" "Can we stay here again?" My kids travel a lot so to hear them say that is really something. Sam, the owner, truly is so sweet and the...

We were looking for a place for one night relatively close to the west entrance of Yosemite Park. Most places were either full or required a two night stay. Found this B&B on AAA guide. Called and talked to the owner (Samantha (Sam)) who said she had one room left -- The Wine Cellar. We arrived at The Harlan House...

We staid in the Rose room. It was so pretty with roses everywhere. It had its own fireplace as well. The entire house was lovely, very pretty. The shampoo and all in the bath smelled lovely. We were offered some wine in the evening, sat down on the porch. A friendly little dear came just outside the porch and said...

A quick trip for a cooking class at Yankee Hill Winery (reviewed that too) so we stayed close by at Harlan House. Truly, we could've walked both to Yankee Hill and the historic Columbia but drove instead since we didn't know how close it all is. Harlan House is clean and comfy (must haves in my book) and Sam couldn't...

Both my mother-in-law, my son and his girlfriend, and a friend from Japan all have stayed here last month! Every one loved it, the beds were comfy, the food delicious and the conversation with Sam, the hostess was really fun! We love the upstairs rooms which are all ensuite and decorated in antiques, great views. The deer come and socialize...

The owner, Samantha makes this place come together after twenty-four years of ownership. Her participation in making every guest feel welcome and comfortable add to the ambiance and warmth of the experience. There are some small inequities to overlook in the physical shape of the aging building, but they are minor in the total perception of your stay. Sam feeds...

B & B were just great. Sam has a special relationship with the local wildlife and lots of stories to share. We stayed one night in the wine cellar with private entrance! Walked to the nearby Columbia Historic State park!

What a KICK!!! This place may be old... but it sure has all the fun in staying in a gold mining town. "Sam" the keeper of this place, makes everyone special and is the real reason for staying here. Everything is very clean and my wife and I had a great time staying here. The B&B is right next to...
