Service spotty. Staff still learning. Cleaning late. Location great. No parking. Expected better wine from Plumpjack property. Food good. Rooms too bright at night. Lights outside kept room from being dark. We had lots of noisy neighbors.

The Hideaway was truly a hideaway. It's upgraded facility was clean and simple. The added perks of breakfast and an afternoon happy hour made this hotel relaxing and restful. We would stay there again.

We spent 2 nights at the Hideaway on our way from San Francisco to Malibu and it was delightful! We are not ones to spend much time in hotel rooms as we like to be out early exploring the area, but our room certainly was comfortable and inviting. Decorated beautifully, although small. Bed was very comfortable. The location is ideal,...

Hi Lori I'm glad that we were able to make a valuable contribution to your vacation. I agree with your statement about the comfort level here. In all my years in this business I think these are the best mattresses i have ever slept on. When you add in our fire pit and fountain in the courtyard it all comes...

We visit Carmel every other year-and we always stay at Hideaway. Great location in close walking distance to the main streets and beach but in a quiet location. Very friendly and welcoming, nice, clean rooms (not fancy but everything you want/need PLUS fresh cookies at night!). Excellent breakfasts too. I highly recommend The Hideaway.

Perfect for a couple of days away, the inn was very clean and the wine and cheese in the afternoon was a nice touch, breakfast was ok but very standard buffet with the same things offered daily, on the whole very nice but probably would choose somewhere else next time

My husband and I honeymooned at The Hideaway and couldn't have been happier with the service and amenities provided. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. Happy Hour fireside in the courtyard with the other guests was reminiscent of an era gone to soon. We will be back!

My husband and I really needed a getaway after our first year of parenting. Luckily, the grandparents were able to watch our son and we got to go to the Hideaway. It was very quiet, relaxing and romantic. A small, but comfy and clean room, a great breakfast that you can eat outside, fire pits for hanging out at late...

Enjoyed our 1 night stay. Room was nicely decorated.Parking can be tricky since it is on street parking. Hotel is in town so you can walk to many shops and restaurants. The wine and cheese in the afternoon was nice and the breakfast in the morning was great. They also have a turn down service at night.with cookies:)
