Only spent 1 night he in Carmel and regretted not have more time . The hotel is fairly historic and is a very nice place to stay . Room was very nice with good views . The breakfast was plentiful and tasty although atmosphere a little stuffy. Most staff were friendly. Didn't have a room safe and not all features... More

The hotel is located in the best possible place in Carmel, right on the main street and 2 blocks fom the beach. It was built in 1903 and it keeps it's charm! The interior seems old but in a great shape, very clean and cozy. Il Fornaio restaurant inside is a plus.

Our family stayed in Carmel one night as we traveled up and down the West coast. Hotel room was really great size for family with college and teen kids. Room had two double beds. Separated bathroom and sitting area. in addtion has a queen sleeper couch in a full living room. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel restaurant, ate... More

I stayed here this last wee for 3 nights. First, if you've never been to Carmel, it is a relatively small area and if you want to stay near the ocean, your options are very limited. Location is good, parking is TERRIBLE! If you get to the hotel after 4pm, just plan on parking on the street (2 hour parking... More

Good Afternoon, I wanted to write a brief response to this review. It is true that we have no elevators but we have a bellman on duty all day and evening to assist with luggage. Also, as with many similar hotels in Carmel-by-the-Sea, some rooms are smaller than others. The Pine Inn offers a variety of rooms to include large... More

Beautiful, old hotel - outstanding service from our Concierge Tom who was very friendly and helpful. The Pine Inn is the oldest hotel in Carmel (120 years approx.) and it is as though time has stood still. The Bell Boy (Milton) was lovely and carried our bags to our room (I did not see a lift but we did not... More

We stayed here for two nights on the 4th of July weekend. The hotel supposedly the oldest hotel in Carmel. It was moved from its original location to the current one on pine logs, hence the name. Since the 1940s, it has been is decorated in an Victorian style. The room I had booked was fairly small (about 10' x... More

We stayed here for 2 nts. The location is super. Right in the heart of the shopping and restaurants. Make restaurant reservations ASAP since they are so small, fills up quickly (Dimitra). We went to grocery store down the street, which was quite convenient. Parking is behind the hotel and fills up quickly, so you may have to wait. The... More

My wife and I had intended to stay in the Monterey/Carmel area for one night, but we had not booked anything. We arrived at the Visitor Centre in Monterey looking for their help to find somewhere. Before I write my review I really want to give a big thank you to the staff at the visitor centre, and to encourage... More

Oldest hotel in Carmel. Huge charm and grand Victorian/ chinoiserie furnishings including a red/pink carpet throughout hotel. The location is in the middle of the shopping area and the real bonus is the free parking behind the hotel -- which means we didn't have to hunt for a parking place and then change it every two hours. That saved us... More

My husband and I stayed here overnight on our way to San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is central to everything we wanted to see and do. It does not have any elevators so you must cart your luggage up and down the stairs, but this just added to the overall experience. The staff was very welcoming... More
