Okay so.... first off a bit of a muck around to get to. Secondly when arranging our room/ bungalow, the owner tried to swindle us for more money. Thirdly we had a flimsy padlock on the door which didn't close properly, allowing one of the many the Feral cats to come in and mark our stuff/ beds as it's territory.... More

Dawn of Happiness is perfect for those on a budget, looking for a quiet place, away from the bustling streets of Ao Nang. Tucked away from the main road, this place is a hidden gem, right beside the beach. You could while away your days, reading or relaxing on hammocks, while the lapping of the waves lulls you to sleep.... More

First thing - Never expect 3 or 4 star facilities there. Its a resort with a homely atmosphere which fits the budget. You get what you pay for. Friendly staff who helps you in cooking. You can use the kitchen to make the dish of your choice with your stuffs. Bit away from Ao Nang - Never mind you get... More

After a 10 day stay here I have fallen in love with the place, but I knew that on Day 1. The DoH is a place to chill amongst lots of green nature, beachfront views, and switched-on people. It's the sort of place where everyone knows everyone else and this friendliness is helped by communal meals. The staff are just... More

I was a victim of the "excellent " reviews of this place and unfortunately I made a reservation there. Bare in mind that during low season it's absolutely secluded and you can't enjoy the beach because of the weather. If it's raining you just have to go to the nearby villages cause there is nothing there. As for service/ staff... More

We had a fabulous stay at this property. Read some more of the reviews before you make a judgement whether to stay here or not. The property is a little outside Ao Nam Mao, a small town with a pier to access Rai Leh Beach. Our Airport bus shuttle took us as far as the Pier, and we had to... More

This is a pleasant and peaceful setting to stay in with nice but small bungalows. All the staff were very welcoming! Breakfast is included but it is simple, so don't expect a cooked breakfast. In terms of location its great for relaxing on the beach, but for any kind of nightlife you need to head into Ao Nang which is... More

First off I would not recommend this location at all during low season. Not a pleasant stay at all. The beds are hard, the beach is barley there, and the free breakfast is simply bread. The bungalows themselves aren't so cozy. But remember if your staying in a bungalow you're going to get a bungalow experience. A lot of people... More

This hippy joint has been run to the ground by a spaced out Swedish Hippy lady, who is a lunatic. She howls at sunset. Pretty spooky. The owner is a spaced out Thai bloke. In the past, it was rented out to 2 sisters to operate. They did a great job. Great food, clean restaurant, great service. Now the service... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fan Room : 500,- Baht/night (May to September) 800,-Baht/night (October to April) Air con Room : 800,- Baht /night (May to September) 1000,- Baht/night (October-November/February-April) 1200,-/night (December-January) A place to rest, not touristy, as you would imagine to be a peaceful holiday on a private beach. There are only a few places in Thailand like this. Highly recommended, for people who want to enjoy the tranquility. The bungalows are simple but cozy. They are directly on the beach ( Ao Nam Mao beach). In your room you will find : A real bed, a fan, a table and a chair to write a postcard, a wardrobe, a toilet with warm water and a small terrace where you can hang your hammock and enjoy the sea breeze. There is a restaurant, beach terrace and a community pavilion. We have own WIFI and it is very good signal. Ao Nam Mao is a quiet area of Krabi with many attractions. In the neighborhood are a shell cemetery (known as a fossil beach) or a traditional fishing village "Ban Lampoo" where you get to know the lifestyle of locals. A riding with trained horses is our neighbor. You can ride along the beach or go swimming with the horses. For children is also something there .. A "fun park" (Adventure Park) where the kids or even adults climb into the trees or behave a time like Tarzan. From us you can walk to Ao Nammao where they can go by boat to Railey beach or Tonsai beach. The public bus from Krabi town or from Ao Nang beach stop directly in front of the resort. From the airport you can get a taxi to join us, just tell them "Dawn of Happiness" Resort, Ao Nam Mao beach (close to Fossil beach) and the taxi will bring you here (about 600 bht). We offer a pick up service as well. ... more   less
