Beautifully renovated ski chalet. I had stayed before the renovations but now this place is next level. I would not stay anywhere else. It is perfect for a large group wanting a private chalet, the open plan living and kitchen area made sure we could easily socialise and be apart of it all. The free parking was great we had 3 cars which enabled us to discover all of the surrounding ski areas and places of interest. There is a bus stop 100 or so meters from the chalet which gives you access to Hirafu ,Annapurri and the onsens. We discovered a few restaurants in the area which had fab food. Beautiful area away from the crazy crowds of a Hirafu but yet close enough if you want to go and get amongst it all. 5 out of 5 we will be back

Hostel hospitality at its finest. Friendly and accommodating staff. The hooting owl is the best bet for you and your time at niseko. Friendly atmosphere of skiers and riders all on a mission for Hokkaido powder. Rides to the hill, day trips, and apres activities all happily taken care of by staff. Their unique knowledge of the area, steered by the interests of these rad individuals, makes this the only place to stay in niseko!

This is a great hostel to stay at when riding Niskeo. The staff and other lodgers were super friendly. They provided breakfast and rides to the mountain in the morning. The beds were clean and comfortable. The living area can be lively at times, so best to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Simply put this is the best shared accommodation/lodge I have stayed at. The staff and other guests were amazing and our time there really made our trip special. It felt like I was staying at a friend's place. You don't feel like just another guest, the staff really go above and beyond what you would expect from them. The only down side was the weak WiFi signal in some areas of the lodge, it made calling home in my room difficult. But that is the only negative I have of the place, and it was only minor inconvenience.

This proved to be a great place to stay for skiing at Niseko. It's hostel style so you need to be okay with interacting with other skiers and travelers in the common areas. I met some great people along the way so that was a plus. The folks running the day to day were excellent. Picked us up at the Hilton from our bus ride upon arrival. Drove us to the mountain each morning. Cooked breakfast in the morning very promptly. Only potential draw back is the rooms are close to the common area so folks up late may be noisy. I popped in earplugs each night and was sound asleep. Place was clean and cozy.

We had a great stay at the Hooting Owl Lodge for our Niseko ski trip in February. Katie & Jordan were absolutely wonderful; providing us with warm breakfasts, transpo to/from the Hilton Niseko, and information on any and everything we needed during our stay! The lodge itself was perfect; convenient location to bus stops (and also a ski-out/short walk from Niseko Village slopes), clean bathrooms and rooms, a nice common area and kitchen, ski gear storage, reliable WiFi, and most importantly (especially after freezing our tails off on the slopes) HOT water! Would love to stay here again next time we are back in Niseko.

The Hooting Owl is by far the best place to stay when staying in Niseko. The Staff including Jodi, Billy and Moo are by for the nicest most helpful and fun people you will ever meet in your life. Do not consider staying anywhere else unless you don’t like fun then go elsewhere. Aside from the epic snow you get there, the common room really helps build great friendships to last you a lifetime and just discuss your common passion for the deep Japow. The next trip I do to Niseko I am 100% staying at the Owl again. Be careful of the Strong and Sake especially when pushed by a Japanese man 😂 🇯🇵🤘⭐️ P

I spent approximately two and half weeks at Hooting Owl and had a phenomenal time. Given that I was traveling solo and it was my first time in Japan the accommodation was perfect for my circumstances. The lodge had an area perfect for meeting and interacting with others and really good cooking and bathroom/showering facilities. I stayed in a two person dorm and the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall the lodge was clean and well maintained. By far the most outstanding aspect of Hooting Owl for me was the staff. Billy, Jodie and Moo were absolutely fantastic. They were accommodating, friendly and helped out with any issues, and above all else, were really great company. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic everyday! A huge amount gratitude to them for making my trip so enjoyable!…

Me and my friend stayed here for 4 nights over the winter. We were unimpressed with the skiing in the area, and overall did not enjoy Niseko as much as other ski destinations, especially considering the high cost of everything from accommodation, entertainment and the pricy and limited dining options. However, the lodge was an alright place to stay (clean, relatively quiet, priced according to the market) but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a Japanese character - its very western and it seemed like only westerners stayed here. It is also quite inconveniently located so expect to either pay quite a bit for an unreliable bus service or rent a car. We stayed in a 4 person shared hostel room, but one night the lodge actually put 5 people in the room (one on a mattress on the floor). We complained about this overbooking, asking for a price adjustment due to the inconvenience and we were pleasantly surprised with the good (although delayed) customer service, when we received a partial refund for the night when we checked out. The chef was quite good who did the breakfast. Most of the staff are very young travellers, so don't expect much from them in the way of local knowledge or effort.…
