We stayed here 4 nights during green season. The price was by far the best in Costa Rica, and it's beautiful. The grounds are nice, and the butterfly garden and hummingbirds were a hit with our kids. We also loved the hot springs. They were different temperatures, less hot than where we stayed in Arenal, and they look murky rather...

Never having been to Costa Rica before, my sister and I wanted to experience the different parts of it. So before heading to the beach, we decided to spend a few days in the mountains. The rooms have a wonderful rustic feel, the food is delicious, the river is just as blue as it looks in the pictures and the...

First, let me say, my husband and I travel all over the world and travel for the culture of a country. The last thing we want is to get to a country and feel as if we are still in the USA. My husband and I actually loved this place. We even loved the drive on the gravel mountain road...

This was my birthday present for my daughter's 21st birthday. She loved it and so did I. The hot springs pools were decedent. The cabana is large and feels very private, like a cabin in the rainforest should. The entire resort is landscaped beautifully, with gorgeous flowers blooming along the walkway. The staff is warm, friendly and eager to help....

Yes, all the reviews about how remote it is are very true. From the airport it took about 1.5 hrs., 30 minutes on paved road, 45 to 60 minutes on gravel. But forget that. We had a great time. It's a small complex with one restaurant, but the grounds were beautiful and well kept. Above all the people there are...

We chose Blue River as our honeymoon vacation spot b/c we wanted to be in the rain forest, not on a beach (been there, done that). Yes, the road up the mountain is 4WD necessary for the last third or so, but once you arrive, all those bumps are forgotten. Our cabin was fabulous -- huge, well-appointed, and surrounded by...

The shuttle picked us up from our hotel on the coast. En route, we asked the driver to stop at the German Bakery (Cafe Europa) near the airport for a box of baked goods. These treats served as our snacks for the next few days at the Resort. We also asked the driver to stop for a quick lunch wherever...

We traveled to Costa Rica, a beautiful country. We were on our honeymoon and we wanted to get away from the dark world that exists in the city. We stayed at the Blue River Resort Hotel, a wonderful and romantic place. We met there very helpful and kind people. The receptionist Manuel is very nice person. The food in the...

Its a long and hard way to get there but its worth taking this adventure...We really enjoyed our stay. Its spacious, clean and beautiful located in the middle of nowhere but close to Rincon de la Veija. The only complaints we had was Dinner because the quality of the meat and fish could be improved but other than that we've...
