Did a family spring break vacation in LA and then up the PCH to SF and needed a stopover near Hearst and this place didn't disappoint. Several similar "lodge" type hotels along this stretch but their website looked good and there was an online discount. Room was nice and large and the fireplace was a bonus, but the cherry on...

Just needed a place to lay our heads to visit the Hearst Castle the next day. Great view of the beach from our room and patio. Could hear the ocean. Although it was the most expensive hotel we stayed at while driving the Pacific Coast Highway, I can't say it wasn't worth it. And for the area, it was an...

This inn is a pretty good choice in a fabulous location. The rooms are clean and up to date but it is basically a fancy motel as you drive to where your room is. I paid a little extra for a balcony which is probably not worth it unless you get one of the rooms with direct beach view. Mine...

We just spent one night here before visiting Hearst Castle. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Renee at the front desk gave us several recommendations for dinner and even suggested shops to visit in town. Thanks! Fireside is directly across from Moonstone Beach and the boardwalk. Pool, hot tub open until 10. Morning breakfast was very good. Nice place to...

Our stay here was a stop on our journey, and not the destination. So the review is based on that expectation. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant recommendation was spot on, and they are close to San Simeon. Honestly wish we arrived early enough to enjoy the view. Quaint and quiet.

This location could not be more perfect for lovely views, the crash of the surf, and glorious sunsets right on Moonstone Beach. It's quiet and the patio rooms up front are very nice. Breakfast is served each morning - very standard, nothing to write home about. You're here for the ocean breezes and walks along the boarded walk across the...

Normally location is everything, however, when your paying upwards of $300 per night you'd expect a little extra than just a bedroom. First off, booking our room online, my husband confirmed twice that the room requested was the room we would get: private balcony, away from parking lots & with ADA compliant utilities. We did not. They overbooked so we...

Last weekend was my 50th Birthday. Coming up to the milestone, I told my husband I would love to be on the beach (waves crashing, relaxing in the beauty of the coast) somewhere local. It was late planning but we were determined to find something. Our search took us to Cambria, we love this area and found Fireside Inn had...

Dear Denise S. I am very sorry that your ocean view was blocked by an RV parked in front of the hotel. I have spoken with the staff and it was a misunderstanding that should have been handled better. Please give me call directly at 805-927-8661 so I can discuss this with you personally. I would like the opportunity to...

If you find yourself in Cambria, California (and you should, if you like Pacific shore vacations in under-crowded locations), then you'd do well to book your stay at the Fireside Inn. Rooms are equipped with gas fireplaces to take off any chill, they're nicely furnished, and there's a pool and hot-tub on grounds. There's also a very nice set of...

Just returned from staying here for 2 nights, celebrating 30th wedding anniversary. We agreed best part of the stay was the breakfast! Very delicious--many choices and everything great! Both nights we used the hot tub and both nights there were no clean towels available--first night there was a big mess of dirty towels, second night just no clean ones. It...
