The property is worn out. There is an announcement in the office that there will be renovations beginning November 2014. A little late, but much needed. The "full" breakfast was very average--steam table scrambled eggs and sausage. However, the office staff was excellent. We had a problem (not theirs, but ours) and they were extremely helpful in finding solutions. With...

Went to visit Hearst with a group, and this was the selected Hotel. Right on the beach, with a full breakfast included. Funky and a bit worn, but just a perfect spot. We received excellent service, and were upgraded to an Ocean View room for our 2 nights. Walked on the beach both mornings and evenings, and walked to the...

The hotel is delightfully situated opposite Moonstone Beach, nestling among several others. Parking easy and free. Warm welcome at reception. Our room backed onto the highway but we were not troubled by traffic noise. The room was cosy (high ceiling) and nicely decorated. Beds were comfortable. Security seemed to be a low priority as there was no room safe, the...

We stayed in the Family Suite here last August. It was dark, dirty and depressing. The furnishings and carpets appear to have been there since the 70s. If you want a wine glass you won't find it in the ill equipped kitchen. For that you have to ask at reception and are told to carry the glass back to your...

On the plus side, this hotel (really more of an upscale motel) is in a lovely setting, with the Pacific right across a fairly quiet road. It was great to listen to the waves crashing on the shore at night with our windows open, and the rooms are rather large. There is a great boardwalk-style walking path right across the...

My husband and I booked a last minute stay in Cambria last weekend. One if the few rooms in the town left was at the Fog Catchier Inn. It is on Moonstone Beach Drive which is a lovely place to stay. Across the street is the ocean which is lined with a walking path. It is also two doors down...

My husband and I met friends in Cambria. We were delighted with the FogCatcher Inn. Located directly across a narrow street from a beautiful beach. A convenient walking path along the beach from the hotel to the town of Cambria. Our room was clean, comfortable and charming. We met friends from San Francisco and they also enjoyed the FogCatcher Inn....

We (husband, son, dog, and myself) stayed one night on our way to Yosemite. I was really looking forward to how quaint it looked and sounded from the reviews on line. We had never been to Cambria. Parking right at your doorstep which was very convenient. First impressions were good - nice decor, quiet, and the beach right across the...
