Searched the Internet for pet friendly rooms. After visiting various travel sites and not being given option to include my dog, I called hotel directly to confirm pets were allowed. Advised all rooms are pets friendly and asked if I should book with her. She basically suggested to book online. NO mention of $150 fee. I booked directly on Marriott site and they authorized $288 to my credit card. This was a surprise visit to my son’s house before he deployed to Guam for 6 months. We arrived just after midnight on Friday night and I had mentioned I would only have the dog that night but the next night he would be at my sons. STILL, no mention of $150 fee. Upon check-in, I would have taken my dog the few blocks away to my son’s had I known it would cost me more than the nightly rate for my dog to sleep 7 hours there. There were 3 opportunities to be notify of fee. With all the fees, my charges went from $288 authorized to over $457 for 2 days stay. Very disappointed and feel they were deceptive after having so many opportunities to be up front about fees. …
It's stressful to travel during the pandemic so I hope this will be helpful. Overall I felt that the staff was taking things seriously, here are more specifics: Masks I saw staff members wearing masks 99% of the time. I saw guests wearing masks about 60% of the time. When you are out and about in Camarillo, most everyone wears masks. Cleaning Housekeeping comes once every four days instead of every day. I'm not sure if you could request more frequent cleaning if you want. We requested towels a few times and they took a long time but they did come. I rarely observed staff cleaning common areas. Food This hotel only has a breakfast buffet and happy hour (I think?) during normal times. There is no restaurant/no room service. Now the breakfast buffet has been changed to a paper bag containing hard boiled eggs, yogurt, muffin, or granola bar (choose two). Pretty sad, but what can you do. No coffee but there is a coffee maker in the room. Happy hour and mixers are canceled. Pool In order to achieve social distancing with the pool, you sign up for a 45-minute slot, and your family has the pool ALL TO YOURSELF for this time. This is the BEST and I wish they would keep this policy forever. :) Entrances/Exits/Elevators The building is only three stories, so you don't have to use the elevator if you don't want to. The hotel is all in one building but there are multiple entrances so you don't have to go through the lobby all the time. Outdoor Areas The rooms do not have balconies or private outdoor areas. That's a bummer. There is an outdoor lounging area that smells of cigarettes because only smokers use it. There are a few outdoor tables in a sad but shady area. My daughter and I ate our meals there a few times, and I worked there for a few hours. Few people use it. Some non-covid things: Wifi I was working the whole 5 days I stayed there and I never had problems with the wifi. Parking I see a lot of people complain about the parking fee. I found a deal that included parking, so take a look around at all the different sites. I had the remind the front desk that my deal included parking, but then it was no problem. Room The room is good! Kitchenette, desk, mini dining table.…
My house flooded and my homeowner's insurance sent us here. We've had a wonderful experience here. The staff are so nice. All of them work so hard. We love the housekeepers. Illiona has made our stay wonderful
I landed in LAX and drove up to Camarillo and by the time I arrived I needed food. "The kitchen closed at 7.30pm" wasn't overly reassuring at just after 9pm! Rooms are ok although a/c and freezer are both very noisy. Breakfast gives you a calories but not a lot else.
We reserved a handicapped room with a roll-in shower because of my wife's needs. When we arrived, I was told we had been placed in a hearing-impaired room, which did us no good. We were given one room that we checked, but it had a conventional tub. The desk clerk told us that both rooms in the hotel that had roll-in showers had been occupied for a while by people who had been displaced by the fires in the area. While we feel for people affected by the fires, I'm wondering why we were told by the reservation agent that a roll-in shower room was available when it was not. On the absolute plus side, we were walked to the Courtyard in Oxnard and your hotel picked up the charge for all three nights there. That was unexpected and welcomes, but it separated us from the rest of the family group that stayed there in Camarillo.…
