This was a girlfriends weekend getaway to celebrate a birthday. We are all Moms to young kids. We love our kids- and we love other people's kids- but we were sort of hoping to have one of those "resort" getaways that make you remember that we were young and carefree once- even for but a short weekend. There were plenty...

Hello NorCal Explorer, thank you for this review. We are in the design stage of completing a remodel on our spa. Calistoga is known for its volcanic ash mineral mud baths and the cotton wrap is a component of that service. The wrap helps pull heat from the body of the mud and mineral baths prior to the massage. The...

We booked a Sunday night so it wouldn't be so crowded when we were there, and really got to enjoy the pools. Monday morning I even got to swim in the big pool with no one else around. Our double queen was newly renovated, beautiful and luxurious feeling. I have reactions to mold and mildew as well as chemical products,...

Located just one block from Calistoga's main street is a real plus for this facility. Rooms are very nice contemporary styling and spacious. It appears rooms were recently upgraded. The bathroom is roomy and the shower is large with up to date fixturing. Rooms have kitchen facilities for those who wish to eat light meals in their room. The 2...

Very pleasant, efficient and available staff. Very comfy two queen room with big fluffy pillows and nice linens. The beautiful pool area has lots of chaise lounges, plenty of shade, and the 3 pools offer a good variety of temperature ranges.

My massage was good but the facility is gross. Took a shower & the water barely trickled out. When someone flushed the toilet the water stopped for a brief second. It was like stepping into the 1980's. The outdoor pools were nice but the toddler screaming from the kid pool to her mom who was lounging in the shade was...

The rooms are nice enough ... clean, mini-refrigerator, comfortable beds ... but the overall design of the hotel is "motel-like," with doors that open to exterior walkways. The noise level is quite high, given that the reasonable price point and number of pools tend to appeal to families with young children. We were moved to this hotel, after our original...

I was a little nervous after reading the reviews. Our two night stay could have not been better. A great hour massage takes away the stress. The pool area very clean and totally enjoyable. The fire pit is a great way to relax after a long soak in your choice of mineral pools at varying temperatures. The suite is absolutely...

The rooms have been remodeled. Our room was nice and very clean. This is not a luxury hotel, but it is comfortable and the pools were great. Especially enjoyed being in the pools and looking out at the beautiful mountain scenery.

This is a nice, comfortable and small hotel. The spa is very good, and I recommend everybody to have a massage. The location is very good, you can reach everything on foot. I enjoyed not being disturbed by children.

This is a review for the mud bath treatment, didnt stay at the hotel on this occasion. Took a drive with a girlfriend to the spa, booked the basic mud bath. My first time there, my friend has been there before and recommended the experience. It was a little smelly on arrival, the sulphur and peat combination in the mud,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Calistoga Spa Hot Springs, a geothermal hot springs resort, recently completed an extensive renovation project that has dramatically transformed a property that has been attracting repeat guests for generations. Located in downtown Calistoga, the 56-room hotel and spa was completely redesigned with a contemporary spa inspired look and feel. The eighteen month long renovation has touched all aspects of the property including a redesign of the guestrooms with spa-inspired bedding, honed Italian porcelain tile showers, kitchenettes with microwave ovens and modern conveniences such as full High Definition LED televisions. The focal points of the renovation are the four-geothermal heated mineral pools. The pool deck was fitted with travertine tiles, new designer-inspired pool furniture and the inclusion of grape covered arbors. ... more   less
