Perfect for our needs. Quite room with ensuite. Friendly staff very happy to please. Evening meal and breakfast good and reasonably priced. Overall decoration at bit shabby could do with a refresh but clean and tidy.

Thank you for your observations. We are beginning a new bout of restoration this year and will be renewing most of the paintwork and décor. I'm glad you enjoyed the food and service here as this is what we pride ourselves on. We hope to be of service to you again in the future. S

Stayed for two nights, all the staff were friendly and helpful, (they even found an iron and ironing board for us when we needed it). We had supper there on Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning. Both meals were delicious and very well priced. Would be happy to stay or eat there again .

We live close to this pub and are so pleased we do. It is so friendly, does amazing lunches and dinners and also at weekends it does tasty breakfasts. A definite pub that you all should try. A friendly welcome.

A good pub within walking distance of the RSPB Northward Hill reserve; friendly, simple rooms and good food. The nearest bus stops are in Cliffe or High Halstow; a taxi from Rochester or Strood to the Horseshoe & Castle costs about £16 each way.

We stayed overnight when attending a wedding at Cooling Castle Barn, which is just a 10 minute walk away, We booked two rooms, both were clean with comfortable beds, the downsides (and loss of a star) were in the family room the ensuite was small and the window blinds not effective in keeping out the light, which could be a...

Thank you for your review, We value any constructive criticism and use it to improve on our offering. Although we cant do much about the size of the ensuite bathroom in the family room we are however going to replace the blind as this will make an improvement. We hope we can welcome you back again soon.

We had Sunday lunch and our dog was welcome in the bar area. We both had the Roast beef and it was delicious, very generous portions, lots of lovely vegetables and followed with a great choice of desserts. Great place to eat out, especially if like us you had your dog on holiday with you. It is a very popular...

What a great place. We stayed here the night before my sons wedding at Cooling Castle. The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and as I needed to go to the hairdressers early they had breakfast waiting when I returned Very friendly and the room was very clean. Perfect night before the big day
