This 50's era hotel is a delight. The lobby is one of those places where you want to curl up with a good book, or put together a puzzle in the afternoon. If you want a Marriott, don't come here, but for a quaint place to visit it is perfect. The restaurant is a 2 for 1 type, combining the...

On our first vist we witnessed the following while went to the Crazy Coyote/Red Ocitillo Restaurant: * Three times we asked for a glass of water and were not successful * After a good salad we waited 45 minutes for the COLD entree to arrive *The owner (Blond, Female) blame incompetent staff at first *We sent our entrees back refusing...

Yes, it was a little quirky and inconsistent - I can understand why some of the other reviewers would not care for it. This is not the Ritz. But considering this is the middle of nowhere in Borrego Springs, California, I found this inn to be a little oasis of comfort and character. We had the deluxe queens room -...

Upon arrival my brother and I were almost turned away because they said they had no record of our reservation. Turns out someone botched our name (the name they had was nowhere even close to our actual name). The bedroom had no overhead light just a small reading lamp (barely able to even read under it). Beds were nice. Cable...

Hotel is hard to find..let me explain - there IS a large sign with hotel name but then during another 1/2mile or so down this dead-end the only sign says "Red Ocotillo" (restaurant, sign with arrow toward palm area, building obscurred), and a giant "EAT HERE" sign. Front desk employee basically and kind of snippily turned us away at check-in...

Spur of the moment trip for my wife and I. We decided to stay at the Palms at Indian Head. Neat place old time Hollywood resort with a beautiful pool and a nice sunrise view. Had a nice lunch on arrival and decided to try the dinner. Sat down with a glass of wine and ordered. Hour and a half...

We have repeatedly enjoyed the classic Palms at Indian Head Hotel. Recently had a fabulous meal at their Krazy Coyote restaurant of seared fresh Ahi Tuna over chef's special mandarin salad. Absolutely mouth watering delight that could have been a dinner all by itself. Gorged on NY steak dinner with mushrooms, mashed potatoes and their special glazed onions and sauce...

Well I have to admit that my experience at this hotel comprises all the good and the bad what has been already said about the hotel. The surroundings do resemble a landfill not because of the ruins but because of the litter. I also ended up w/ the door handle and the lock in my hands attempting to open the...

A friend from Canada and I visited Borrego on April 17th. Again, it was a wonderful, serene respite. I like the Palms at Indian Head for its simplicity and dedication to the premise of relaxation. The rooms are furnished simply but with the amenities of good toiletries, a microwave, coffee pot and small refrigerator. I have stayed many times and...
