Nice place rescued from demolition years ago. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. In the evenings there is live piano music. Restaurant has good food and indoor-outdoor seating. The place is still undergoing rehab: landscaping nice but weedy and the remains of the demolished bungalows are still there and this brings down the looks of the place. The...

I agree totally with the last 3 responders. We knew the area before we travelled and thought that this hotel had potential based on its history, pictures and previous reviews. The hotel sells itself on its retro feel however our impression after finding our room was just plain old tired. We had room 10 at the top of the stairs....

My wife and I stayed at the Palms the weekend of Apr.1-2. Even though I'd read the reviews, we weren't quite ready for what we found. First of all, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. From the check-in to the bartender to the servers at the on-site restaurant, everyone was exceedingly pleasant, which is good, because the facilities are...

Been here for years but always stay in the same room because we loved it. This time we booked late and got an awful room - #8. No view, broken/inoperable ceiling light, both chairs with seats, no hair drier (and desk didn't have a spare).. FYI rooms 1-5, 10-12 are probably better. The couple in 9 felt the same way...

Came out to see the super bloom. Here is my feedback: I'm Upon arriving you get a great impression of the hotel. It's like traveling back in time to the '50's with the palm trees and deco architecture. As you can imagine there is a great expectation with that kind of entrance. 1. Arrived at 7pm, there was no one...

Location was perfect for seeing the spring flowers. The facility is lovely—good lobby, restaurant (good burgers), bar—and the pool is fantastic. We took a relaxing and cooling late afternoon swim in 90 degree heat. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The rooms themselves are a little dated and not fancy, but the bed was good and it was all fine...

I can not think of one surface inside or out of this hotel that was in good condition. Cinder blocks were provided to keep the casita doors open to the pool area, our's whole our neighbors broken in half. This place is barely hanging on. For some reason we were sad about this and hope someone will rescue it from...

A lovely pool (needs to be cleaned more regularly), but I stayed in the supposedly special casita next to the pool, and although it was nicely appointed and comfortable, there were a few broken things. Overwhelmed (but extremely nice) staff. Location was ideal! Don't be a vegetarian at their restaurant.

We love staying at this place, but not as much since they moved the breakfast into town. Not even coffee in the lobby. A small coffee maker in the room, and a fridge, so you might want to bring your own milk. The lunch/dinner restaurant is probably the best in town and the giant pool is spectacular.

We stay here to see the flowers in bloom. My friend likes to camp at the state campground. We have a California state park pass. It was very easy to drive 1.5 miles to see them. A great breakfast was included at the Red Ocotillo. I had Bacon benedict food hot and bacon crunchy. Our queen bed was extremely comfortable....
