The staff was very friendly. Large main bedroom, and a large bathroom with a jetted tub. It's very convenient having the restaurant with a full bar in the hotel. So we get some drinks and brought them to our room.

perfect location for my purpose, with comfy bed and hot shower. but it could do with refurbishment throughout and still keep its old world charm. I was given a wifi voucher for 72 hours but my stay was for 90 hours. when I queried at check out I was told there were vouchers in an envelope on the main door...

My husband and I were looking forward to our visit to the Union Hotel. The photos on the website looked so nice. I should have taken a clue when I called to inquire if there was a refrigerator in our room. The man who answered the phone was not professional and could hardly answer my question. He actually never did....

Although we did not stay at the hotel, we visited frequently throughout the year. The Hotel resturant owner, Gabby, is delightful, charming, and an excellent chef. He has created many of the recipes on the Italian menu. The hotel was established in the 1800's, the decor is authentic with the period. The dining hall has a glow of earlier times.

View was great all down hill from there. Hotel staff complacent and could care less. Pets allowed which explains all the stains. One coffee cup on arrival which was used. Never never again. Furnishings were not antique just old....water stains scratches dents broken...seen better at Goodwill.

You can not beat the location of this hotel. The price is great for the location. After that, this is a very tired hotel. It needs to be upgraded and throughly cleaned. A mildew smell greets you in the elevator. Pillows and towels are well worn. I could keep going on. Would i stay here again - yes - because...

Loved this inn on the bay. It was a great price. Our room, Victoriana, overlooked 1st street and was right on the bay. Bed was a comfy queen. Pillows were the pits but the Jacuzzi in the oversized bathroom more than made up for it. We got ants in the food we left unwrapped in a bag. Overall, well worth...

Few goofy things...

The Union Hotel is very old, and their furnishings transport you back into another era. It was clean, fun, and their employees were beyond good. We were visiting our adult child and her family, who live in Benicia. By staying downtown we could enjoy that Benicia offers and still feel like we were being pampered in our own vacation time
