Stonedge is unique. The host, from Belgium, is hilarious and very welcoming. Right off the bat, we were each given a free welcome drink and an enjoyable chat with Didier. The rooms are definitely basic but fine. He cooks amazing meals in the evening and morning and is a very popular place with the French tourists.

I have stayed at Stonedge at least 10 times. It has become my home away from home. The hotel is rustic and not without its quirks, but the food is great, the price is low and the owner fun! New rooms are being built at the time of writing. Some are already completed and they appear really nice from the...

OK...This is NOT a place that everyone is going to be happy with! But if you are open to a little adventure, it is hard to beat. I stayed three nights in the new rooms, there are also some older cabins and dorm bunks (US $10, I believe). My room was very clean, everything worked. Although I was the only...

I stayed here a bit more than a week with a friend. This is a very fun, laid back place to stay in Dominica. The property sits several hundred feet above the sea at the edge of a cliff, so don't expect access to the sea. Or a working swimming pool. This place is frequented mostly be travelers for whom...

The Stonedge cabins are located on an amazing cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The amenities are basic but adequate, about what you would expect for the price. Didier, the owner, is a friendly guy who is willing to give advice on where to go and how to get there. Dinah, his girlfriend (?) seems genuinely nice. If you are on...

I stayed at Stonedge Hotel Jan 20-28 '07. It was my second stay at this hotel. I would happily go back today. At Stonedge you can expect basic, rustic accommodation. Water conservation is a must at this hotel so it is not the best choice for two shower a day people. Bring bio degradable soap and try a river bath. The...

At $16.50 US per night each person, Stonedge is the best value on Dominica, in the opinion of a second time visitor to the island. Didier is a dedicated, accommodating and attentive host, one who is always willing to provide service to all his guests, in any way he possibly can. As the Stonedge website advises "snobs and maniacs not...

“There are 3 options: 3 (soon to be 5) new rooms, I stayed here, excellent. Some older wooden cabins, and bunks in the main building, I do not have any input on the last 2 options.”
