First of all, you have to understand where you are. In rural Colombia, you are not going to find A/C or 5 star restaurants. In the warmer parts of the country (like the Eje Cafetero) it's difficult to find warm water or even decent water pressure. This place was a welcome respite! The water was actually hot (not just lukewarm) and the pressure was good. The lady who runs the place was wonderful and friendly, and the staff was very eager to accommodate us. The room was clean, although there were a few bugs and spiders (you are on a farm, after all). There was a king bed and a futon in our room. There was also a mounted fan on the wall, which was perfect for the weather. It blew right on us in the bed, so we slept comfortably. The shower was big. The whole place looked recently renovated, but it didn't affect the authenticity of the Finca. There's a nice walking path through the coffee farm, which also grows plantains and passion fruit. The environment is tranquil and lovely. The pool is very nice, and the lodge has plenty of room for large events. It's pet friendly, which was great for our dog. The restaurant... First, if you read the review about "recycled" food, obviously this person has never been to the paisa region of Colombia. "Calentao" literally means "leftovers", and it's a breakfast staple throughout the region. The beans are always from the night before, and they're mixed with rice, meat, egg, and sometimes other stuff too. The food was typical of the region. It was pretty good. The location was phenomenal. It's close to the Botanical Garden /Mariposario in Calarcá as well as the Parque del Café in Montenegro. There's also a nice marcado and restaurant nearby if you have a car. There are small stores and a bus stop within walking distance if you don't. This is a great place to visit, far nicer than the other places you're going to find around Armenia. The people are great and the overall it was a very nice experience.…
We stayed in several places during our travels in the coffee region and this was by far the best place we stayed. Comfortable bed, hot water (in this area is a commodity), good food and above all, a wonderful and helpful staff. Our room had a nice little balcony facing the coffee farm, a much appreciated and highly efficient fan, and a king size bed. The pool was clean and very well designed. The menu was true to the region and breakfast is included. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to some of our special food requests. And the hotel administrator was very friendly and was able to get us an additional night even though the place was booked solid. It is best to call ahead to get directions as it is a little tricky to get there and Waze sent us to the wrong place, twice! We highly recommend it!…
Clean and very attentive staff. You can also walk through tout the farm and the coffee plantation which is great. they offer great group packages, sometimes the beer is not ice cold but is a cultural thing not a lack of refrigeration, if you ask the staff they will accommodate to your needs.very romantic place!
This hotel is one of the worst. Although the staff was nice and tried to please the hotel is a1 star at best. Food was horrible and feltnthat is was being recycled from meal to meaL.THE TOAST HAD MOLD ON IT. My beer was 1/2 opened like someone had drank 1/2 of it and put the top back on. There weren't any hair dryers in the rooms. No airconditioning either. Did not even have cold beer or red wine. Pillows were hard. Our fan in the room sounded like it was about to explode. No hot or even warm water. Terrible experience.
We stayed here for two nights with our two year old daughter. We arrived early Sunday morning after what looked like to have been a busy weekend, but were offered breakfast as our room was prepared. Our daughter loved the grounds: a little park, cows and chickens and lots of different fruit trees as well as coffee. The swimming pool was great and the perfect end to a day of sightseeing. The staff helped organise our trips which were: Salento and Vallee de Cocoro, Botanical gardens and Recuca. We loved it all and would have loved to stay longer. Martin and his family were incredibly warm and helpful. Cynthia was delightful and loved playing with our daughter.
