Run by Ann, this B&B has history, location, and hospitality combined to feel "at home" even if the weather does not. The property built & crafted by Ann's late husband has a cosy touch with views across the Loch, sheltered from the worst of the Atlantic storms.Within easy walking distance of the village centre, pubs & eateries, it is an ideal spot to watch the tide ebb & flow in the harbour with a suitable drink or 3. Ann rustles up a breakfast fit for a king, home made bread, meats & cheeses and for those of cannot live without a full Scottish (English) breakfast, the local hotels & café's handily oblige. Just off the beaten track to Skye this B&B is well worth the stop-over or a base to explore from. Hospitality is Ann's strength, many could learn from her approach & warmth…

We stayed at Heron's Flight on the 14th & 15th of September 2013. Plockton is one of the most beautifully peaceful villages in the highlands with idyllic views. Ann has a wonderful home looking straight out on to the loch, and is truly in a wonderful setting. The village is almost untouched by the modern pace of life, and ann's home reflects the tranquillity of this wonderful village. Anne looked after us wonderfully well, and we fell in love with her lovely dog Rhua. Breakfast was continental with ann's lovely home cooked bread. And although continental I can assure you the choice available was wonderful. Not If, but when I return to Plockton I would love to stay here again.

It would be hard to find a better location than this, and warmer hospitality I have seldom encountered. Watch your waistline though as Ann insists on giving cake at what seems like every opportunity! We have knocked a star off only because, for our taste, it was like a trip down memory lane and things were a little dated. However, we soon warmed to this and really enjoyed our stay. While "only" a continental breakfast is served, this does an injustice - a banquet was laid out each morning, preceded by porridge and including homemade preserves and bread. Rhua is utterly bewitching and a great little character - her mischievousness was wonderful. Amber would, putting it bluntly, fit in well in "the City", with all the other Fat Cats ! That said, her temperament and laid back…

Ann is a very warm, welcoming host and we were made to feel at home, complete with delicious freshly made cake and coffee. Our room was clean, and beautiful with 2 wonderful picture windows overlooking Loch Carron. The decor, I would describe as homely, comfortable and warm. The dog and cat, well trained, and excluded from guests rooms, but pleasantly friendly in neutral territory. I noticed that Ann was quick to check if their attention was unwelcome. The lounge with open fire, and and sun room also had lovely views of the Loch from the ground level, and I could imagine they would be a perfect haven in inclement weather or for an extended holiday. We were too busy touring the wonderful countryside to use these rooms on our 2 day stay. I have no hesitation in highly…

We loved our stay at Heron's Flight in the charming fishing village of Plockton. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the two 'picture' windows with a magnificent view over Loch Carron. A great place to sit and while away the hours when not exploring this lovely village and surrounds. Anne is a very helpful and amiable host and this B & B is great value for money.

I had an image of the west coast of Scotland in my mind - stunning scenery, charming coastal villages, Britain as it was, perhaps, a generation or two ago. Heron's Flight and Plockton in general did not disappoint. Ann has a lovely house in a most remarkable location. We were made most welcome, our room was delightful - entirely appropriately "old-fashioned" in our opinion. A short walk into the village for excellent food. We had a great drive over to Skye and then on to Ullapool the next day. We would definitely go back to both Plockton and Heron's Flight.

After an epic journey of over 6.5hrs we finally dropped down into Plockton Village and were very pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Heron's Flight is at the end of the village with the back garden directly overlooking Loch Carron. Our room was lovely with two windows over the loch and one window looking out towards the village. Ann very kindly organise our first night's meal at The Plockton Inn, an excellent choice, just what we asked for. We also ate at the Plockton Hotel, which again was fabulous food, reasonable prices and nice surrounding, no wonder these places get so busy! The breakfasts were plentiful with a good choice, including porridge & haggis! We'd certainly have no hesitation in staying again.

We tried this b&b based on previous reviews, but were disappointed. The room we stayed in was rather old-fashioned and had a very small en-suite, but it did have a wonderful view. The hospitality was fine. However, a couple of times during our stay we had to put up with the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the conservatory where guests were allowed to smoke (is this legal?). We could even smell the smoke in our bedroom. The fried breakfast was greasy and the bacon had a very strange smell. Although Ann was helpful, we will not be visiting or recommending this b&b again.

The previous reviews say it all. A fantastic location, superb accommodation and hospitality that you thought had died out a couple of decades ago. Ann is a lovely hostess: friendly, thoughtful and with a sharp wit. Breakfasts are plentiful and tasty, and the rooms are large and very nicely decorated. The B&B is located on the edge of the loch with fantastic views, and within walking distance of good quality pubs and restaurants. Yes, the seafood is excellent. Plockton is a pretty little village with many sights on its doorstep. And, maybe best of all, complete strangers actually smile and speak to you. I think all visitors to Plockton and this B&B will try and return.

My boyfriend drove me all the way to Plockton from Newcastle for a couple of nights away on my birthday. I discovered Heron's Flight B&B from Googling the Web and I'm so pleased I did! Ann gave us great directions and was very warm and friendly on the phone. It took us hours to drive there but it's such beautiful scenery we didn't mind. We parked outside the beautiful self-build house and Ann met us with a cheery smile and hello along with Yarrow her smashing little dog. The house was modern but styled with antiques and had a warm atmosphere with just a hint of the mysterious. We were able to chose which bedroom we wanted - West or East - it was a hard decision but I opted for the room with the beautiful old antique furniture. We made ourselves comfortable and Ann brought us a…
