From the time we arrived and were greeted by Cherry and indulged with a pot of tea and homemade shortbread we felt very spoilt and very well looked after. Cherry has terrific attention to detail and this showed in the room - there was even fresh milk in a flask rather than the horrid plastic cartons!! We were even entertained...

Treated to dinner here by friends. Arrived on a wet and windy night to be greeted by co-owner, Cherry, at front door. Bowls of gorgeous olives and home seasoned nuts (some with honey from their own bees). The menu is concise but that is a good thing. Gordon, other co-owner, is the chef. Food style is "Scottish traditional" majoring on...

We were looking forward to revisiting Creagan House. Our first stay was last year and it was excellent. We were not disappointed. A very comfortable place to stay, with excellent food and service. Gordon and Cherry have worked in the hotel trade for many years and were about to celebrate 28 years at Creagan House. Everything they do is very...

Gordon Gunn is an artist with food and with his lovely wife Cherry welcomed us to share their home for two nights. Advertised very clearly as a Restaurant with Rooms, it was a visit to dream about. So many delightful touches in the house and at the table - we felt spoiled from the moment we telephoned to confirm the...

We stopped here on the way up to our house in Dornoch after a very long and wet drive up the motorway-Master very grumpy. Both Master and Mistress were then cheered up by large Mc Callen and G and T,whatever they are. I was made very welcome the whole time I was here. I then went out for a wet...

Booked this on the reviews that it was 5 star. Yes it is, but not the rooms, only the restaurant is 5 star. In reality it should be clearly stated its a restaurant with rooms only. Cramped lounge and nowhere for children to go and play. Breakfast - why everything has to be brought to the table is a mystery,...

You are correct, this is not a hotel, for the past 27 years we have been a Restaurant with Rooms. That is why the AA and VisitScotland, who inspect us rigorously in every area each year, classify us as a Restaurant with Rooms. You did not reply to our email question of the ages of your two sons, we can...

We wanted somewhere special as this was our Silver Wedding celebration and chose this lovely hotel from the reviews that we read. We couldn't have chosen anything better. Cherry is a great host and Gordon a 1st class chef. The accommodation was lovely and clean with wonderful views and the food was exceptional. We will certainly be back again!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Creagan is a devil to define, but a delight to find! For an escape from life's fast lane and a real taste of Scotland, a visit to Creagan House is an experience never to be forgotten. This cosy farmhouse is only an hour from Edinburgh or Glasgow, but it feels like a million miles once inside, surrounded as it is by gorgeous highland scenery. An ideal base for a special occasion, whilst touring, or for a longer stay to explore the wealth of attractions and activities within easy reach. A renowned Restaurant with Rooms, where food is, without question, the heart of the house. It is country house cooking in the modern form, classically French based, using the best quality fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible. Gordon and Cherry Gunn have owned, and continually improved this unique outpost of highland hospitality for 28 years and are proud of their many awards earned each year. These include 5 star Restaurant with Rooms Gold Award from VisitScotland and the AA. You can be assured of a warm and genuine welcome in this home away from home. ... more   less
