The lobby of this place was what I was expecting the rooms to look like, beautiful dark wood and cozy. But ours wasn't.We were lead out into the garden into another building,it was a strange setup. The room was comfortable enough but not quite what I was expecting in a place called the English Inn,needs some updating.

Thank you for your feedback about your recent stay with us. We have one extra room off the garden path, outside the main manor house. Should this room be booked on the phone, guests are advised of its location. If guests book online, you will simply be allocated a room type. I have since looked ahead to advise all booked...

My husband and I held our wedding here in early September. From day one of planning, Heather and the other amazing staff at the English Inn made me feel relaxed about how smoothly everything would go. The grounds are gorgeous, and the inn itself has so much character and a true feeling of luxury. Each room is very different -...

Thank you Lindsey for taking the time to write such a beautiful review! You are forever connected to the staff and I, so please do not be a stranger. Your Mom messaged me the other day for a dinner date so I am going to have to adjust my busy schedule to accommodate. Much love to you all and hope...

While the room was lovely and large we wondered about the "renovations". Where new plumbing had been installed the previous holes were left unfinished and the workmanship that had been done was shoddy at best. For the $$$ of the crown rooms it just wasn't worth the extra. Yes, the room was large and boasted a King bed and a...

Thank you for your comments about your stay with us mid September. Room 14 is the largest room in the building and is great for accommodating travelling couples or guests that require space and their own bed. However, this room does lack the character and intimacy of the remaining guest suites as it is most commonly utilized for size and...

This English Manor house was built in 1906 and serves as a wonderful place to spend a few nights while just a few minutes from downtown Victoria. Since it is located in a suburban neighborhood, there are not any restautants or shops nearby. But aside from that, this is a nice way to have some quiet time away from Traffic...

Thank you for your comments regarding your August stay with us. With downtown Victoria only moments away by car, the beautiful sites and dining options of our city are at your fingertips! However, Esquimalt does have a few little restaurants but they tend to be more ideal for lunch. Our full service bar and lounge does offer a little nibbles...

Excellent place just to sit outside and watch the world and people go by. The two waiters are very nice and funny. The drinks are averagely priced but there is a cool beer garden out the back for groups that want to have a few drinks. Sitting out the front was my favourite- some excellent (relaxing) street performers which we...

Thank you for your review, however, it sounds like you are describing a property other than the English Inn. We do feature a fabulous veranda for enjoying a drink on a sunny afternoon and many quiet garden locations around property for relaxing in nature. People watching is best in the inner harbour of downtown Victoria which is only 6 minutes...

We recently stayed at the English Inn for a brief getaway. We were blown away when we initially walked up and into the lobby. It's beautifully redone on the inside and landscaping is amazing and makes it feel secluded even when it's in the middle of the city. When we booked our room, we saw pictures of beautiful rooms with...

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay in unit 21 this summer. This is an extra room that we rent throughout the peak summer months which happens to have the best garden view on property! Many guests select this room simply for its location and privacy from the other guest rooms. With renovations scheduled for this coming year, your...

Our stay in Victoria deserved something out of the ordinary and this certainly fit the bill. A quaint oasis with rooms that each have their own character. The dining room was great for the continental breakfast and they will also set up a table for you if you order dinner in from an area restaurant. The grounds are stunning with...

Return visit to Beautiful Victoria, great choice to stay at the English Inn if your looking for a quiet, relaxed atmosphere away from the tourist area downtown. Stayed over a 3 day weekend with my wife. I joked to the front desk person that it gave me an initial "Scooby Doo haunted mansion feeling". But really the place is nice, the staff I see are constantly in action maintaining the property. Whether it is dusting or maintaining the hardwood floors. The setup does take some getting used...

Though our room was large and spacious there was no heat. There were no staff at night to speak with and the next morning it was too cold to have a shower!!
