We booked in February this year to stay here on the last night of a touring holiday in France in July. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to Caen and because it was a 4 star - we wanted somewhere nice as it was our last night. We decided to enhance our experience by having a superior room... We went here on 26th, after Christmas. Very nice welcome from the staff. We had dinner at the restaurant. Nice food, good meat. Very quiet atmophere, we were only 3 couples on the hotel/restaurant. Big old sofa and fire in chemine. And you may see doe in the forest while you are having breakfast!

Well presented ex hunting lodge in the heart of Normandy, very close to the famous Mont Ormel. Large rooms with huge comfortable beds and great showers. VERY quiet and ideal for country pursuits - especially equestrian. Could not sample restaurant as closed on Mondays.

Many of the previous reviewers have said how peaceful the surroundings are at this hotel - and they are right! After hectic driving for a couple of days it was lovely to sit back and relax! The hotel is very well appointed, lovely reception and public rooms. Our bedroom, on the first floor, was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, as... More

Stayed at this slightly quirky hotel because we were attending an event nearby. Had booked half board......but didn't remember so doing! Wasn't sure at first but went with it and thoroughly enjoyed the dishes selected for us by the chef and the lovely maitre'd Antony. Excellent food and great selection of wine. We did discover we had to indicate when... More

This hotel is a delight, the rooms were great, the beds comfortable and the peace and quiet very welcome. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the wine list worth exploring. The only thing to be aware of us there is no air conditioning in the rooms although given that this is a marvellous French country hotel it really... More

Having spent a week in a mobile home, we wanted a spot of luxury to break our journey home. The Pavillon did not disappoint. Lovely, friendly staff, chic, well furnished room with a nice deep bath, a lovely pool for an afternoon and a great restaurant serving good quality French cuisine. The setting is positively Elysian and the building steeped... More

We had a 2 night stay here in July. Our room was large, the bathroom was updated and modern. The bed was comfortable and smelled fresh. The chateau is set on peaceful grounds with lots of area to walk. We didn't try the pool as the weather wasn't warm enough but it looked nice. You can sit outside or have... More

After disappointment at a nearby establishment we were pleased to find a room there. Not a grand room but clean - and the shower worked too! Taking everything into account - a fine dinner, great surrounds and a good nights sleep we are happy to recommend this property to other travellers.

On arrival was overwhelmed by the beautiful setting and the old hunting lodge. However bit of a let down by attitude of the receptionist/waitress who seemed a bit put out by our request for a beer. Later on they had run out of gin. We did get much better service from the younger receptionist/waitress though and you could not fault... More
