A big thank you to Rob Brierley and his welcoming and very helpful staff at Nkuringo gorilla camp. We had a fantastic stay. We ate very well at Nkuringo: a four course dinner both nights. I love the freshly baked bread and rolls. Vegetarian options can be catered for but should ideally be booked in advance. Wine is purchased by...

I have to mention the customer service and friendliness of the staff first. From the team at the booking office in Entebbe to the staff at the campsite, each of them was exceedingly helpful, cheery and friendly. I must make special mention of Lydia whose advice on the best ways to get to the camp an onward were invaluable and...

getting there with your own car is hell. it took us 12 hours from kampala and the last 40 kms are the worst we had in the whole of uganda. it´s probably not even correct to call it a road, it is a path...which caused a flat tire 4 kms away from the camp... other than that the camp is...

After exhausting day, when we travelled 12 hours across the mountains from Ishasha to Kisoro, we didn't expect, that we will experinece another two hours of "car mountaineering" to this camp. It is quite far from Kisoro and the road is bad, so expect delays. But the location has its pros, because it is just a few steps from UWA...

Booked my trip with Robert (the owner) via email and skype and it worked out perfectly. Everything went smoothly as soon as I landed in Uganda, drivers, guides, accommodation, all of it! The guides are great - especially Asigario (not sure on the spelling here) and Agatha, very enthusiastic, helpful, great English and never complained with all the hiking they...

We stayed in Nkuringo Gorilla Camp in the beginning of August 2013, as a family of three. Our long journey to the camp site began from Entebbe. It took about 14 hours, and my 11 years old son was sick all the way! However, Nkuringo's warm and proffessional driver-guide Patrick made the road easy and tolerable; his interest in my...

I only had to email an enquiry to Robert via the website, to receive some of the most personal service from any organisation I have come across. Booking very short notice, Robert provided fantastic, quick, comprehensive responses via email and Skype! Nkuringo gives you the opportunity to tailor make your trip to your needs, meet the locals through a local...

I don't know what I can say about the gorilla camp and Nkuringo Walking Safaris (NWS) that hasn't already been said by so many people before me on tripadvisor but as that they have just given me one of the best (or perhaps THE best) trip(s) of my life, I thought I should add my eternal thanks here to R...

The Nkuringo Gorilla Camp is one of the very few places I have visited where budget travellers, staying in the camp's tents (Lazy Camping option) mix well with travellers who opt for the Virunga Terrace rooms (8 well appointed rooms and 3 adjoining dedicated bathrooms) or the more upmarket self contained cottages. The communal dining room and bar brings them...

Thoroughly recommended. Great welcoming friendly staff and super service. Comfortable suit. Hot water when requested, and electricity from the generator during the evening hours. Agatha was our guide for three days of walking safaris around the local community and down to Lake Mutanda and Kisoro -- she was excellent: great fun, informative and interesting... she really made our stay. Thank...
