This was our first stop on our first trip to Malawi and we couldn't have set the bar higher. We wanted a brief change-up before continuing our safari vacation and chose Lake Malawi as the place to relax and try some fresh water snorkeling. As in most of the out of the way camps and lodges in Africa, the lead...

pumulani - what can we say - down on the shores of lake Malawi - another fantastic robin pope lodge. Having done Mkulumadzi lodge first and now this - a haven of peace and tranquillity. Beautiful weather, fantastic rooms, georgeous food, lovely relaxation and the most amazing huge telescope which enabled us to see the surface of the moon and...

We had a fantastic stay after a week safari in Zambia. Exceptional views from the deck, room was gigantic and also had a great view. The private beach was great and we practically had the beach to ourselves. August was a great month to visit weather wise, lovely and warm but not unbearable. Catering was also delicious. A great option...

Spent 5 nights at Pumulani after a hectic safari in Zambia. It was a perfect way to unwind at the end of our trip. Facilities are stylish and very comfortable. The Staff couldn't have been more attentive. Meals well balanced and tasty, with a good choice of fine S African wine. Memorable snorkelling in the Lake- visibility was so clear...

We loved coming back to this little gem in Malawi. Fantastic view from the villa, the terrace and the infinity pool over the lake. Very pretty and unique facilities though some maintenance at the wooden railing would be nice. The food was tasty and all freshly prepared but not as good as we remembered from our stay a few years...

After two weeks working in village schools this was just the luxury needed to wind down. The villa was immense - think one bedroom flat, and had stunning views of the bay. The panoramic bathroom view took some getting used to but wow - what a loo with a view! The S.African chef produced amazing cuisine throughout from the braai...

The lodge is a three and a half hour drive or so from Lilongwe airport. My villa (number 1) was massive. A sink, fridge with water, beer and soft drinks, kettle, tea and coffee in the entrance area, large sitting room with sofa, chairs, a lake view verandah, large bathroom, double headed shower, lion footed bath with lake views, bedroom...

Beautiful location, great food, friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast dhow, though be careful with room choice as not all have lake view and the quality/size of rooms varies significantly. Would recommend going before rainy season kicks in.
