We stayed in Florrie's Cottage. It has been renovated to the highest standard. Such a lovely, peaceful setting. No TV, internet or phone, so a nice break from technology. The owners are very friendly and I am sure nothing would have been a problem. We can certainly recommend a stay here.
Two couples with dogs stayed over a 3 day weekend. We had a great time, Sandy and Marty are great hosts and our cabins were excellent. The dogs enjoyed it best of all. Highly recommended for a short break, and the wine is pretty good as well.
We spent the weekend at Barney Creek Cottages in the Lakeside Bungalow. Perfect setting. Huge amount of food in the hampers we ordered. So peaceful and relaxing. No phone, internet or TV reception so totally unplugged. Loved going for a wander and having a dip in the creek. Sandy & Marty have done a brilliant job of making this a place where you can complelety unwind.
We stayed two nights at beautiful Florrey’s Cottage, recently renovated and styled exquisitely by Sandy. Every detail has been considered. We enjoyed a cosy fire amongst the (plentiful) cushions, rustic setting but with all modern conveniences. The grounds are delightful, and while we spent our days hiking the nearby Mount Barney walking trails, we could have spent 48 hours without leaving the gardens, looking quietly for platypus in the creek, or reading a book overlooking the garden. The Vineyard wine added perfectly to our self-catered meals. Thank you to Marty and Sandy for home-style Queensland hospitality.
We had the Hilltop Station ( Mountain ) Cottage, which is probably the best for just a couple, as it has the great view across to My Barney and Mt Lindesay. Large spa bath in bathroom, also shower as well. Comfortable 4 poster bed. Airconditioner took a little while to cool the whole cottage, as it was up at the kitchen end, but adequate once it got going. Kitchen well equipped with stove and microwave. Day Bed on the deck at the front, nice garden, gas Bar B Que and table and chairs on back deck. Lounge area with TV ( no reception of course due to isolation of the area ) but DVD and CD Player attached. Note there doesn't appear to be any Mobile reception ( at least with Optus ) in the area. They have decorated the cottage with little nick knacks ( eg toy trains ) which adds a homely touch I guess, but we found them in the way a bit, and scared we might break something. They make some pretty good wines there too !…
