We had trouble getting reservations in Petra, so it was with considerable trepidation that we booked rooms at Beit Zaman given the mixed reviews in Tripadvisor. But surprise! We were here for two nights and we were very happy with the accommodations. We had a lovely large room near the top of the complex. The staff was friendly and helpful....

The first night we arrived they give us a room I guess the last one that they have. We were travelling alone so I guess they give the best rooms to the groups which should not be. The room was very small very bad smell in the bathroom no lights a frigidaire that was not working we ask for a...

We got a last minute deal to stay at Beit Zaman and couldn't believe our luck. The "hotel" (which is more like a village set up) is in the hills above Wadi Musa (the village which sits at the entrance to the Petra site). The check in staff were friendly, polite and helpful. There is an efficient yet friendly restaurant...

I appreciated that this hotel was built by a Jordanian family, and not an American chain. The concept is charming and unique. The rooms are large but average. Food was good - but after spending a week in 5star hotels in Jordan, it's really all the same. Buffets get tiring very quickly. I can't remember how close it was to...

We come down on the positive side of this debate, particularly because of the hotel's unique charm. It was built by the same people who did Taibet Zaman, although this one was apparently built from scratch, rather than from an old and abandoned village. It's newer and well maintained. A very large indoor pool. We had a small (as it...

We checked in for one night and it took an hour for the reception staff to find our booking . There was no hot water in the bathroom so we could not shower after a long day sightseeing (next morning it was tepid only). The plug on the kettle did not fit the socket and it took another hour for...

Rooms are not up to scratch considering the price. Labelled non-smoking and smelling of cigarettes. Not located close to Petra so quite inconvenient. Staff not trained very well and service is poor. Great design and layout but overall not worthy of the price. Petra town itself is a tourist trap rip-off. I would recommend staying at Dead sea and using...

The hotel has potential as it is beautifully placed above the city and has a very spacious set-up. However the service was well below expectation and also below what we experienced at other hotels in Jordan (e.g. Kempinski, Movenpick) Here is the list of the shortcomings: Apart from reception staff, communication in English is difficult to impossible. This lead to...
