The Sankara Resort is lovely. We stayed here for 5 nights and ended up extending our trip one more night because we loved it so much. We initially stayed in a deluxe room #807 and for our additional night we stayed in Titi Besi deluxe pool villa. Rooms were big and spacious, clean and beautifully decorated while overlooking lush trees. Included in the rooms were an abundance of bath accessories, robes, slippers, bug spray, power adaptor, and indoor bug repellent and complimentary bottled water and tea.
The resort has a very beautiful, clean main pool. It main isn’t huge, but was very comfortable and clean. There are only 8 lounge chairs but was never a problem for us.
The restaurant was good and we ordered room service from there a few times. It is decently priced and offers several options. Breakfast offers only a couple options but very good.
We did a couples 2.5 hour spa called the Coconut Secret beauty. It was perfect and professional. We loved it and our skin was absolutely soft and glowing afterwards (I had a skin allergy from the hot sun so this was everything).
The yoga center was beautiful and I loved the free morning yoga with Sukarmi! They provided the mat, bottled water and flower. It was spacious and was an enjoyable Balinese style yoga for an hour.
We loved and gratefully appreciated the free hourly shuttle service that we used every day from 8am to 10:30pm. The vehicle was clean, always provided free bottled water and umbrellas to use with a safe driver and 10 minute ride.
Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful! Every time we entered the lobbied we were warmly greeted, probably some of the absolute best customer service ever! So thank you for your hospitality. Of course, I really loved Sukarmi the most, she and I really connected.
The WiFi was good for us (we come from the USA). The location was perfect for us because it was directly in downtown Ubud, which is very loud, so this was a quiet resort (outside of the occasional noise from the Ubud club) that was fairly close to Ubud market center. Overall we absolutely loved our stay and would recommend and come back to! We loved the tropical area.

We stayed here for a night on the 20th December as our flights were brought forward a day. We wished we could have stayed longer. It was absolute paradise, from arrival at 2am the kitchen was closed but the left two sandwiches in our stunning room. The room was perfectly presented, a fruit bowl, a stunning huge bath tub and even flowers on the bed with a scroll note welcoming us to the hotel. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The pool was a perfect temperature, one of those perfect infinite pools. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here in February 2020 and as soon as we arrived we were met by the friendly staff opening our car door for us.
The resort itself is well designed and it makes you feel like you are heaps far away from the town. Very quiet inside.
Very shady and green feels like the jungle.
We were given a welcome drink and were made to feel at home straight away.
We stayed in the pool villa and were very happy with it. We got the flower pool done and the level of detail the staff put into the design is incredible. You also get to choose any words you want made into the design 😊
The restaurant had awesome food. Live music and balinese dancers were provided as entertainment.
The resort shuttle bus drops you at a supermarket in the centre of Ubud which made it very easy to do shopping and explore!
Couldn’t fault this resort. Everything was perfect. We will definitely be back again

We stayed at Sankara for five nights in early February 2020. What a lovely location and hotel to start our 18 day stay in Bali. We throughly enjoyed the Balinese hospitality, which included the spa (two visits) for a Balinese massage; our Villa with private pool, huge bed and spacious bath/shower room. We took advantage of an early morning walk with a member of the team who showed us behind the scenes of the local village meeting hall and home, which helped in our understanding of the Balinese culture and way of life. We ate in the Kumbah restaurant on four evenings enjoying the Balinese menu selection. Our huge thanks to all the staff from drivers, reception, spa, restaurant and cleaning staff for making our stay with them so very enjoyable. Hopefully we will be back!

It is great to hear that you had an unforgettable stay and that our service was impeccable. Calling our guests by name and not to tag them with a number is our priority which all guests appreciate. Indeed with attention to details and personal touches we can make a big difference, and this is appreciated by all our patrons. The Resort was private, wish I had a few more days to stay there! It was a little out of the way, but shuttles are available to Ubud Central, and you can arrange with them pick-up for a fee. I felt having breakfast at the restaurant was much better than having it in my Villa, you would be able to request for extra water etc. On the first day there, there were problems with our toilet door and we had to wait for about an hour before it was resolved. While it was an inconvenience, staff were very apologetic and did their best to make sure it was fixed ASAP. Their friendliness and helpfulness - you will never forget! (: beautiful resort!

I would like to give this lovely resort five stars but I have to be honest .....
Nearly everything was fantastic especially the service from the staff
the cleanliness of the room
the big delicious breakfast
the regular free shuttle into busy Ubud town centre.
However our room backed onto a sports club which had a basketball court right next to the head of our bed - we could hear balls bouncing and music playing from early morning until 10 pm some party nights
There is also a skate park there 🙁unfortunately the Sankara resort cannot do much about this - they were sorry, they offered us earplugs and they did ring the sports club next door when I complained at 6:30 one morning when the music started.
so if you stay here make sure you are away from the sports and probably go for a villa with private pool as these are down the hill away from the noise
such a shame because most people come to Ubud for peace - everything else was perfect (although hot water not great!!)

Our stay at the Sankara was amazing and the location is absolutely perfect. Right by Sacred Rice, the famous restaurant in paddy fields, which is absolutely fantastic for diner and views, I rated this hotel top marks due to the location, the service of all the staff which was faultless, especially Vaundra at front desk who made sure we were well looked after and took care of my mum who is 78 and has difficulty accessing stairs, the spa was also FABULOUS, and the setting within the hotel is so peaceful and beautiful. We were upgraded to the one bedroom pool villa and it was fantastic to have our own private pool even though the main pool was also lovely. The hotel also made sure we were safe during the virus by providing hand sanitiser in all public spaces and free face masks. Thanks very much.. highly recommend.

My family and I stayed at the Sankara resort for 4 nights and our stay was amazing. All of the staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating both around the resort and in their restaurant. Our flight to leave Bali was at midnight so we were kindly allowed to use a room after checkout to shower and change in before we left the resort which was very much appreciated. The food at Sankara is delicious and the service equally as good; the resort it’s self is also only a short drive to many of the tourist attractions in Ubud. The only downside to the resort is that you don’t get much sun around the pool if you are looking to sunbathe here.
Overall, we would happily come back to stay at this lovely place.

All staff are friendly, welcoming us well. The ambience and scenery was super nice for staycation with partner or family. Suggest for give complimentary two slippers for the guest, due to the floor is cold, I tried to ask the slipper but I have to pay about ten thousand rupiah for one slipper. When you want the breakfast sent to your room, we have to pay more about 20 thousand rupiah. I think its a lot for additional charge. Maybe management would be consider it for increase the value by customers. Thank you, God bless for all staff there :)

Dear Arhanbobby, Om swastiastu … Genuine greeting from our home The Sankara Resort & Spa by Pramana Experience. We would like to thank you for taking the time to note your feedback about your experience with us here at our home. Your feedback is highly important to us as we seek further avenues for improvement. We are sorry to hear we did not fit in to your expectations on this trip. I do apologize should we fall short in any of our services during your short time with us. In view of your comments on additional charge, in all normal scenarios. In addition, we are also lower than other resort for that matter. Our service and product menus in our resort are all in nett prices which includes all taxes etc. while many other resorts/hotels has ++ prices listed on their menus/service. We regularly compare prices among a group of hotels/resorts so they are very accurate. I am sure you understand the difference clearly, so it’s implemented. We cannot thank you enough for the lovely compliments overall about our home and our team members’ service. We really appreciate your recognition for the same. Nevertheless, we do hope to be part of your holiday plan for the future and if we can be of service in any way possible do let us know. We shall look forward in welcoming you back with us again. Warm regards, Vaundra Aristra Front Office Manager

We have a great 3 night stay at Sankara due to the staff hospitality and professionalism.
Upon checkin I felt the policy is quite calculative as we have to pay adult fee for children above 5 years old. I realised during the breakfast it was because they come as a set rather than buffet style and the serving is quite generous, enough for sharing. So this could probably be explained earlier or maybe have kids menu with less serving.
Apart from that, the property is targeted more for couple rather than family with young kids as some amenities are not child-friendly such as deep pool and slippery pavement. So those coming with young kids may want to take note.
Breakfast in the room is also possible and room service food that we ordered was great and relatively affordable.

I do not think there is a shower by the pool. I don't remember seeing one. Everyone had the pool and/or shower at their room.

Bonjour, the hotel wasn't in the town of Ubud however we were told when we arrived at the hotel that they can provide a chauffeur to take us to the supermarket. We had to give an hour's notice and then the car would take us to Ubud supermarket which was in the middle of Ubud town, all we had to do was give an estimated time for pick up. You can stay as long as you want in the town to explore and to eat. The supermarket is quite close to the monkey forest so you could visit there also. Hope those helps.
