Lonely Planet describes this place as being 'hard to reach'. 30 minutes in a taxi from the airport, and then a one hour boat ride on the resort's own boat. We arrived at night which made the journey seem quite exciting with the spray splashing our faces, however the journey is well worth it. We were met by a group...

After a 4 hour cab ride to a dock in a tiny fishing village, and an hour boat ride (all of which was organized for us by the resort), we arrived at Koh Thmei resort. Pure tranquility - fantastic views, good food, and comfortable cabins. If you are looking for "luxury", this is not your place - which should be...

Long way to get there, but the trip was easily organized. Once there nobody said hi or gave us any information about other than how you should note down your orders. No info about jungle paths, walks or snorkeling trips. Had to ask about everything which seemed to bother the not so friendly owners. Luckily the volunteer workers were nicer....

An outstanding setting combined with wonderful hospitality. The owners clearly care about the local environment and their staff, and it shows in every aspect of the resort and in every interaction with the people who work there. The bungalows are simple and clean--no frills, but more than adequate. The central bar and restaurant building provides a relaxed and comfortable setting...

Isolated, peaceful, beautiful, relaxing, charming and a great all-round experience. Basic but functional good sized huts close to the ocean. Power available first thing in the mornings And after dark. Very welcoming owners who were always available and good to chat with. We also played cards with them on a couple of nights, well stocked bar and kitchen, prices were...

In this paradise island was our best experience ever. Nuria and me worked in the restaurant as a waiters and we lived with the khmer staff in a alone bungalow behind the restaurant. I remember one day playing with El and Ron with a Indiaca. Amazing

After the journey down to the remote fishing village and a long boat ride we came to this little slice of heaven. The beach was fantastic, the people warm, and the place was a beautiful little eco resort where guests spent their days reading, swimming, and playing board games. It was simply lovely. The only downside that I would caution...

We visited Koh Thmei in july 2015 and absolutely loved our stay! We wrote the resort an email, and luckily they had room for us. Arranging the transportation took some emails back and forth, as it is not the easiest accessible place - but that is kind of also the point. The resort have 8 bungalows. Only 3 of which...

After two weeks of intense travel, we experienced Koh Thmei Resort as a safe haven. A warm welcome by Michael and Kavita and staff, total relaxed atmosphere and great food. The self build ecosystem of the resort is amazing (solar power, waste water filtering, recycled cooking oil for the generators). We loved it!!!

We were a group of 8 (two families taking 4 bungalows) who stayed at the island for 6 days. What is there NOT to like about this place???? The email exchanges that we had with Michael and Kavita (till the day before our arrival on the island) were efficient, informative and extremely helpful in terms of the arrangements and costs...
