Since the Trip Advisor site says this lodging is pet friendly, my husband and I walked along the beach to the establishment with our well groomed, off leash trained, non shedding Standard Poodle and stopped by to see if we could rent a room. As we entered her place of business, what appeared to be the female proprietor barreled out...

It's surprising to see the contrast of fabulous to awful reviews of La Luna. I do understand the frustration of some who might not have known about the prohibition against bringing one's own food and drinks; it is on the home page of their web site, but in small writing at the bottom. On Airbnb it is stated more clearly,...

Isn't my intention to spend a lot of words. This place is magic. You can stay here for days (or months) completely surrounded by nature. You have amazing sunsets, the huge ocean, excellent fish food ... and you haven't internet or cell connection. What's more?? Federico and Anabela are great hosts. Just put your holidays in their hands. PS: don't...

As we were driving from Tonal to the Beach where La Luna is located we constantly called the owner's phone to ask about the boat service to the island where the cabins are. After being unable to contact him and with no phone service at the parking lot the owners recommended a boat showed up to pick us up as...

Rust nails in the doors, a big cockroach and spiderwebs, are some things that we found in this so-called eco-cabin. Food is TERRIBLE, menu is very limited and the room was hideous (thinnest mattress I've ever slept on). We booked for three days, but ran away after day one. A very weird, award vibe surrounds the place. Anabella, the owner,...

We had a great stay at La Luna. We stayed after "Semana Santa" so were virtually the only guests on the island. Anabella is a freindly host and she cooks well. Prices are very good and the cabanas are what you can expect: basic but nice.

We were travelling in Chiapas in January. And we wanted to stay at least for a night on the beach of Pacific. Searching by internet the best beaches in Mexico we found Boca del Cielo. The problem came when we was trying to book any hotel in this area. Booking.com didnt show us anything and somehow we found just La...

My husband, friends and I stayed there for one night. We arrived late afternoon and had some food at their restaurant. The place looked very nice and relaxing and the other guests were friendly. However, the vibe from the owners was quite weird, they were stressed out. Soon after we arrived, my husband had some argument with the owners over...

Just FYI - This place is not in Tonala but in Boca del Cielo. If you're looking for a place that offers good food, service and offers a variety of water activities then La Luna is it. There was a good mix of locals and travelers alike. The food was delicious too. As a family we had 2 spaghetti dishes...
