We chose to stay here as we planned to take the train from Chillan to Santiago. As we had seen Bernardo's representation often in South America we felt it would be fitting to stay in his Birthtown and in the Hotel named for him. The hotel's location was convenient to the bus and train stations- we walked down to the...

This is a really nice hotel quite close to Chillan railway station, and about ten minutes walk from the main bus terminal - or a very cheap taxi ride. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast pretty straightforward but served in the very pleasant lounge, and as for the bathrooms - they are huge and have the most handsome fittings. The...

I stayed in this hotel for almost a month, and the service is good coming from the employees, but they have really odd rules. I checked in by myself, but my brother was with me, he was going to be stopping by almost every other day to pick me up etc, and the employees there did not allow him to...

Compared with similar hotels in Chile, Hotel Libertador seems quite poor value. We were quoted 43,000 pesos for one night for a matrimonial room with a lumpy, small double bed, in a very clean room with decor which would have seemed outdated 10 years ago. Prices were oddly much higher than listed in our guidebook, perhaps we were quoted a...

We just needed a night for a stopover while heading south. The hotel is reasonable value but quite basic. Secure parking and wifi in the lobby only. We had a corner room on a hot summer day and the room was indeed very warm. Friendly staff but no English spoken.

If you looking for a decent place to stay this is it While it may not be a 5 star hotel it is clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is good and the rooms are ok. Nothing special but I would rather stay there than a five star hotel. Why pay triple for a hotel that has a fridge in...

The hotel seemed to be staffed entirely by ladies, all of whom were very friendly and helpful. Our room with bathroom was large, clean and comfortable. It was some way from the centre of town and we had trouble finding somewhere for dinner. However, at 33000 it was good value.

“Chillan is a quiet city - I stayed twice and my room on the first occasion was at the front corner of the building, one the second on the side street. Both were quiet. I wouldn't worry.”
  • The wash basin - doesn't do the bathroom justice but it is so old fashioned.
